A study from PwC found that implementing any of three #circular #businessmodels in the "electronics industry would result not only in reduced carbon emissions but also in considerably lower operating costs—representing an average savings of 12% compared with a linear business model.” This demonstrates the strong #businesscase from implementing circular strategies. For this study, the researchers projected the emissions and cost impact of three principal circular business models (Product as a Service -PaaS, Circular Inputs, and Remanufacturing) over the next 12 years in four broad segments of the electronics industry. Many electronics companies are pursuing sustainability initiatives like reducing carbon emmisions but dont know where to start. Why is this important? Global electronic waste generated in 2019 amounted to 53.6 million metric tons and is projected to reach 74.7 million metric tons by 2030. Sustainable practices in electronics manufacturing and disposal are no longer a nice to have but MUST have. To bridge the information gap, Supplyframe has released the Electronics Product Carbon Footprint (PCF), a game-changing, one-of-a-kind sustainability intelligence in the electronics industry. This provides global manufacturers with instant access to product carbon footprint data for more than 300 million electronic parts, addressing compliance reporting needs and paving the way for more sustainable product design and sourcing decisions.
