Gen Z, we need to talk about your green skills gap 🌿💼 Recent research from LinkedIn has uncovered a concerning disparity between your environmental consciousness and your preparedness for green jobs. Let's break it down: • Today, only 1 in 20 Gen Zers have the green skills for climate challenges • By 2030, you'll be a third of the workforce as companies race to meet emissions targets • This isn't just about filling jobs—it's about reshaping entire industries But the green skills gap isn't a roadblock; it's a launchpad. Here's what I predict: 1. A surge in green upskilling programs, both in-house and through #edtech 2. The rise of "green translators"—professionals who bridge traditional roles with sustainability 3. A boom in green entrepreneurship and #INTRApreneurship as Gen Z creates the jobs they want to see The future of work isn't just green—it's regenerative. You won't just reduce harm; you'll actively heal our planet through your careers. So, let's think big: ❓What extinct jobs might come back in a green economy? (Blacksmiths for wind turbines, anyone?) ❓How might AI and green skills intersect to create entirely new career paths? ❓What wild ideas do you have for solving climate issues through your future work? Let's brainstorm the careers of 2030 and beyond! 🌍💡 #greenjobs #genZ #sustainability #careerdevelopment #climateaction #greenskills https://lnkd.in/gsHmJpx8.

What is the future of Green Jobs? It is worth being prepared. Before looking ahead, what is the situation NOW? Currently, over a quarter of the full UK workforce have reported sustainability covers at least one part of their role. The journey to a sustainable society will touch everyone. This is prompting people to transition into the green space, and creating opportunities as these requirements grow. This means - the future of green jobs is bright. We will see more opportunities, more power, higher salaries and more progression for those passionate about improving & protecting our environment. I also believe that Sustainability is a data problem. We will see hardcore data professionals within Sustainability teams. For many organisations who are preparing to remain compliant, competitive and impactful - they are already making these hires. Do you enjoy working with data? Are you able to articulate your experience of working with data for future interviews? What have you noticed change in the green space since you entered the field? #sustainability #climatechange #greenjobs #recruitment

🌍 Green Jobs: The Future of Sustainable Career Opportunities in India 🌱 The global shift towards a sustainable future has fueled an exciting rise in green jobs across multiple sectors, including renewable energy, water management, e-waste, and electric vehicles. However, one major challenge remains: a growing skills gap. As demand for green talent increases, India must urgently prepare its workforce with essential green skills. Institutions like IITs and initiatives like Hyderabad’s Green Skills Academy are stepping up. They’re offering specialized programs combining traditional green expertise with AI, data analysis, and project management, empowering young professionals to bridge the gap between tech and sustainability. LinkedIn’s Global Climate Talent Stocktake 2024 shows demand for green skills outpaces supply, potentially doubling the need for qualified candidates by 2050. This highlights a tremendous opportunity for both freshers and mid-career professionals looking to pivot toward impactful, lucrative careers. 💡 Key Highlights: Green jobs go beyond tech roles, creating pathways in policy, engineering, and finance. Talented professionals in these roles see higher compensation, growth, and industry recognition. Partnerships with AICTE and 1M1B are enabling students to gain real-world exposure, while platforms like LinkedIn Learning and Coursera make skilling accessible. As we strive toward India’s net-zero goals, green jobs represent more than a career—they are our pathway to a sustainable future. 🌍 #GreenJobs #Sustainability #FutureOfWork #SkillGap #ClimateChange #SustainableDevelopment #YourStory
