I've observed a growing trend: insurance emails—including company newsletters, renewal reminders, and general communications—are increasingly drifting from my primary inbox to the promotional folder or junk, and many are going into an abyss in the internet black hole. Emails aren't passing through the filters of email service providers, leading several clients to question why. This issue may be linked to years of collecting email addresses and insurance expiry dates through contests, where participants only entered to win a prize, or from bombarding recipients with irrelevant emails at once flagging your content as spammy. The core problem? Email deliverability Why does this matter? When important communications emails like renewal reminders, lapse notifications, or policy cancellation notices aren't getting through, it puts unnecessary strain on your customer-facing representatives such as unnecessary follow-ups. What's the point of 60-45-30-7-day reminders when they're not even getting through? Creating the email template, email and design is probably the easiest part. The real challenge is understanding what makes an email effective.
