A study by MDG Advertising found that 67% of consumers believe that the quality of a product or service's image reflects the quality of the brand itself. I shared this fact during a recent presentation at a networking event because it’s crucial to keep in mind.
In another role, I audit companies' Instagram profiles to see if they could benefit from social media support. It’s amazing how many pages feature blurry, low-quality photos taken on a phone. Now, I’m all for taking selfies and casual photos on your phone to share your story in your stories. LinkedIn, after all, is more about connections and written content. But when it comes to Instagram or your website, it’s all about the image.
A client will visit your page and form a first impression, not based on what you say, but on what they see. It’s said that it takes just 0.05 seconds to form a first impression based on a company’s website. Whether it’s your website or social media pages, the images you put out there make a huge difference. Professional photos set you apart from competitors, give you credibility, and build brand confidence.
When did you last update your website photos? Do you have a gallery full of professional images for your social media platforms? Please share—I’d love to know what you think.
