For a long time in IL cannabis, cultivator and distributor were essentially synonymous. Social equity licensing has proliferated groups that hold no canopy space, but distribute edibles, vapes and infused pre-rolls created from bulk extracts and flower. While they can’t claim the seed-to-sale, artisanal bonafides that other brands have long relied on (☕️ whether or not it’s true 🫖) I’m excited to see many of these brands move into a luxury positioning with well-crafted product lines that fit genuine needs within a saturated market. When I look around my network - i see a whole group of people who transitioned to AUCC from CBD/ Hemp and have partners using them to grow weed. This trend, however, doesn't apply to House of Sacci, a family-owned AUCC under the leadership of CEO, Mike Casacci. His decision to build equity as a brand instead of giving it away as a white-label/co-packer is paying off. By focusing on establishing their position as a premium New York flower brand, he has captured market share across the state. Mike's tenure as CEO can be marked by an understanding of the market dynamics. Product development, genetics and quality have been the differentiators. They run a very modern business - lean and mean like a fine oiled machine. I am seriously impressed every time I visit the WNY farm. A big thank you to Business Insider for featuring Weedmaps in their 4/20 sales report. This year's 4/20 celebrations highlighted a remarkable surge in consumer demand, underscoring the vital role of technology in understanding and meeting this demand. Additional 420 takeaways include: ✅ 72% of items ordered across Weedmaps were brand-verified. 💻 Order volume increased by 18% on the day before 420, compared to the previous two Fridays in April. 📈 Order volume increased by 86% on the day of 420, when compared to the previous two Saturdays in April. 🛒 Basket size increased by 7%, while the number of items ordered increased by 38%. Since 2021, vape prices have decreased by 16% and edibles by 21%, although we have seen the price of flowers increase by 5% year over year.
