Our study supports that numerical complexity (i.e., the maximum interactions among athletes in a training task) is a major regulator of GKs' performances. Thus, small changes in task design, towards the interactions of the athletes, could be an efficient procedure to ensure GK skill acquisition.

Do you use the French contrast method with your players? This method is proving to be increasingly popular due to the time efficient nature of the programme. The aim of French contrast training is to hit the various areas of the force-velocity curve in order to produce an acute adaptive response. Typically, this would follow the below sequence: 1. Maximum force exercise 2. Plyometric exercise 3. Ballistic or speed-strength exercise 4. Overspeed or assisted exercise In football, there is limited data showing the effectiveness of this method on physical measures. A recent study from Türkarslan (2024) showed significant improvements in vertical jump, 30m sprint, and dynamic balance values in professional senior players.
