Join me at the Georgia Society of Ophthalmology meeting this weekend and learn about True Ultra-Wide Field Retinal Imaging. The GOAL is the "most" retinal area captured with the least invasive impact to the patient. It's not reasonable to flash the patient's eye 7-9 times per eye in each phase, versus 1 single capture at 200 degrees (ora to ora most cases) using Optos True UWF technology! #retina #retinaspecialist #ophthalmology #ophthalmologist #eyecare #cataract #cataractsurgery #eyedoctor #eyespecialist #eyesurgeon

#ThrowbackThursday to when the time-domain Zeiss Stratus OCT was the hottest new technology in ophthalmology! Fast forward 19 years to the spectral-domain Zeiss Cirrus HD-OCT, producing much better axial resolution and a higher scanning speed, resulting in significantly more detailed scans. It begs the question; what will retinal imaging have in store another 20 years from now? #OCT #Zeiss #CirrusHDOCT #ophthalmicimaging #ophthalmicphotography #retinalimaging #retina #retinaspecialist #ophthalmology #tbt

Two optical coherence tomography (OCT)-derived structural changes — macular ganglion cell inner plexiform layer (mGCIPL) and peripapillary retinal nerve fiber layer (pRNFL) thinning — can equally predict visual field (VF) progression in eyes with open angle glaucoma (OAG) with initial nasal step, according to research published in the American Journal of Ophthalmology. In eyes with OAG and initial parafoveal scotoma, mGCIPL thinning outperforms pRNFL thinning as a marker for VF progression, the report shows. We prioritize our customers and would like to highlight a few of their profiles: Dr. Kahn, specializing in cornea, cataract, and refractive services, discussed his introduction to Virtual Field, its integration into his practice, and the resulting benefits in a recent interview. Dr. Seidman, a medical retina specialist, presents a compelling case study on how Virtual Field has transformed her ophthalmology practice. The journey unfolds with the discovery of Virtual Field and addresses the specific challenges encountered by the clinic. Dr. Sismanis, with expertise in oculoplastic and reconstructive surgery, engaged in a recent interview focusing on the challenges within ophthalmic care, particularly related to insurance requirements and the demand for reliable testing methods. The conversation emphasized how Virtual Field has emerged as an outstanding eye exam experience. How many cataract surgeries does it take to be a good surgeon? "What options does the medical community have to acquire, maintain, or improve their surgical skills? One solution lies in the utilization of experimental surgery labs or simulation labs..." Read the full study: https://bit.ly/3ItUBx0 In July 2023, Dr. Van C. Lansingh, Chief Medical Officer of HelpMeSee, published a short paper in which he and the collaborators of the IMO (Mexican Institute of Ophthalmology), an associated training center in Mexico, recommend simulation-based training to reduce the number of #cataract surgeries needed to become experienced surgeons and ensure patient safety. #ophthalmologists #ophthalmology
