Founded by Johanan Dujon, CEO, Algas Organics is committed to helping the packaging, paper, and pulp industry cut deforestation by utilizing their novel seaweed-based fiber. This fiber grows approximately 320 times faster, is about 40% cheaper, and uses around 80% less energy than traditional wood fiber. 🌍 Johanan Dujon shares their vision: "In the next 5-10 years, our seaweed-based pulp fiber would be adopted by major packaging and paper/pulp companies globally, allowing them to produce more with fewer trees. This innovation will mitigate 500 million tons of CO2e annually, by replacing the pulp from 1.4 billion trees per year, equivalent to removing 109 million cars off the road annually." 🌱 Exciting News from AgroNet ZERO! 🌱 We are thrilled to announce that AgroNet ZERO has been selected as a finalist in the 2024 Alumni New Venture Challenge (ANVC) at the Polsky Center at the University of Chicago. This global competition supports University of Chicago alumni in developing early-stage ventures, and we are honored to be among the eight finalists. At AgroNet ZERO, we are dedicated to revolutionizing animal waste management through sustainable biochar production. Biochar offers a powerful solution by transforming agricultural waste into a valuable resource with multiple applications, including soil amendment, carbon sequestration through biochar carbon credits, and bioenergy production. Our innovative approach not only addresses environmental challenges but also creates tangible value for livestock farmers. By converting waste into biochar and leveraging biochar carbon credits, farmers can potentially increase their revenues by up to four times.
