As a member of the American University community, sustainability is an important part of every piece of research, every program, class, and conversation. I decided to take a look at the issue of carbon emissions in my favorite motorsport series. Formula 1 is hailed as the pinnacle of motorsport, but It also has one of the world’s largest carbon footprints. Here’s how the racing behemoth is setting itself up for a more sustainable future. #sustainability #goinggreen #Formula1

New regulations always bring some interesting topics of discussion, people don't like change but when it's safety-focused and funny enough this time removing the holeshot and ride height device to focus more on the rider's skill is an exciting move. Sustainability has always been a big focus in motorsport, with everyone doing their part in preserving our playground and going from 40% to 100% sustainable fuel. Excited to see how these new regulations impact racing. https://lnkd.in/d-hwZMcF #MotoGP

Škoda Motorsport Drives Sustainability in WRC2: A Key Player in Green Rallying Škoda Motorsport is making significant contributions to the sustainability of rallying as a key player in the WRC2 category! With close to 600 Škoda Fabia Rally2 cars sold to customer teams globally. We are at the forefront of efforts to make rallying more environmentally friendly while maintaining technological advancements and excitement. “Sustainability solutions are important for us at Škoda Motorsport, just as they are for the FIA and the WRC Promoter. From our perspective, this is the key to the future of the sport,” says Lukáš Paták at Škoda Motorsport. The FIA World Rally Championship has taken significant steps towards sustainability, becoming the first FIA World Championship to implement sustainable fuels. As the FIA World Rally Championship often visits remote places, the WRC Promoter also became the first motorsport stakeholder to commit to protecting World Heritage Sites. Dr. Johannes Neft, Škoda Auto Board Member for Technical Development, states: “We are appreciating very much, that we have such a good cooperation with the FIA and the WRC Promoter. For us at Skoda, this means, that we have to lead into the future with innovative ideas and a good cooperation with our suppliers. We are stepping forward in the entire sustainable chain which we are responsible for.” This commitment reinforces the brand's position as a driving force in sustainable rallying, aligning with the industry's efforts to balance environmental considerations with the excitement and technological advancements that make rallying a compelling sport.

🏍️ Insights into MotoGP™ 2027 Regulations As MotoGP™ gears up for its radical 2027 rule changes, it's evident that the sport is poised for a significant transformation. Here are my insights into these groundbreaking regulations: Ban on Ride-Height Devices: The outlawing of ride-height and holeshot devices promise to inject an element of unpredictability back into race starts. With the focus shifting back to rider skill, we can anticipate more thrilling and fiercely contested starts reminiscent of old-school racing. Engine Downsizing and Sustainable fuel: While the reduction in engine size and bore diameter may initially lower the top speed and power, but it does open the door to innovative thinking. This move could level the playing field and encourage manufacturers to explore new avenues with sustainable fuel, potentially reshaping the championship dynamics and fostering greater competitiveness. Aerodynamics Homologation: Tighter regulations surrounding aerodynamics homologation signal a strategic shift towards fostering closer racing. However, it also imposes limitations on motorcycle aerodynamics development. Whether these changes will truly level the playing field, or if manufacturers will still find ways to outshine their competitors within the regulations, remains to be seen. It's a development worth keeping a close eye on as MotoGP enters this new chapter. These new regulations not only shape the future for existing teams but also spark the interest of potential new entrants to the sport, with rumors of a new manufacturer having approached for an empty slot on the grid. Here's to a thrilling new era in MotoGP™! 🏁 #MotoGP2027 #RacingEvolution #FutureofMotoGP
#MotoGP is set to introduce new bikes from 2027, paving the way for the motorsport to be more sustainable. New regulations and smaller engine sizes will also make the sport safer for its riders. From 2027, the engine size will be reduced from 1000cc to 850cc, decreasing top speeds, making the sport safer, increasing mileage, and improving efficiency and #sustainability.
