Meeting strong women and hearing their success stories empowers you to do more. Shimla Ahmed is a wonderful woman with a track record of several successes. She is the CEO and founder of AO News and Co-founder and President of the Southern Community Empowerment Association of Maldives - SCEAM Heartfelt gratitude for the advice and guidance. As women, we must empower each other to do more for our community instead of discussing each other. When we empower each other as women, several positive outcomes occur such as: 1. Increased Confidence 2. Empowerment fosters a spirit of collaboration rather than competition. 3. Empowering each other often leads to sharing knowledge, resources, and opportunities. 4. Empowering each other helps break down societal and institutional barriers that limit women's progress. 5. Empowered women serve as role models for others. 6. Empowering women can lead to broader social change by challenging gender norms and stereotypes.

To celebrate International Women's Day, we must address all aspects of it! In the last few years, women have been on the frontlines as Sri Lanka grapples with a global pandemic, an economic meltdown, and the ongoing political and governance crisis. Every day, women from diverse backgrounds are agents of change and social transformation for collective freedom in the social and political spheres. Yet, Sri Lankan women are seldom recognized for their everyday contributions. Creating spaces where women can voice their concerns, share their experiences, and actively participate in decision-making processes is crucial for fostering inclusive development and progress. Empowering women requires providing them with the due agency and resources to create spaces, build communities, and celebrate them. By empowering women, we not only address gender inequalities but also pave the way for a more prosperous and sustainable future for all. Empowered women will empower the future! 🙌 Immensely proud to be a part of Hashtag Generation , that is not only led by young people but also empowers young people like myself to engage in work that creates real change! From lobbying policy changes to engaging in evidence based approaches to change stereotypical narratives, we do it all! And together, we will fight against all forms of inequalities, and make this country one step closer to being inclusive! #InternationalWomensDay #InspireInclusion

While working on a consultancy project for PROBLUE, I analyzed this incredibly inspiring document: "Tourism for Development - Women and Tourism: designing for Inclusion" 👩💻 👱♀️ Highly recommend reading! Here is the link to the full WB report: https://shorturl.at/ce456 🚨 "Many advancements have been made in the empowerment of women, but women are still far from enjoying the same basic rights, privileges, and benefits that men do. Women still earn much less than men, do a disproportionate amount of housework, have fewer rights, less social mobility, and limited access to resources." Let's change this, together! ❗💪 #womenempowerment #genderequality #inclusivity #womenintourism

Today, we reflect on our strides and the roads yet to be traveled. 🎈 🔊 #Voice and #Agency are not just buzzwords; they are the pillars of true empowerment. Maya Angelou's quote serves as a powerful reminder that empowerment begins with a proactive mindset. In the face of challenges or injustices, instead of succumbing to despair or complaint, women have the power to choose action. Empowerment for women involves recognizing our capacity to effect change. It's about acknowledging the existence of challenges and injustices but refusing to let them define or defeat us. Instead, it's about directing our energy into constructive efforts that lead to positive outcomes. This embodies the WIN CAN-Do spirit, where we approach obstacles with determination and resilience, knowing that we have the ability to make a difference. Let's embrace this mindset of proactive empowerment and work towards creating a more inclusive and equitable world for all. #womenimpactingnigeria #win #ngo #womenempowerment #PositiveChange #WINCANDOSpirit #mayaangelou

Women Empowerment Starts at Home – A Journey of Small Acts with Big Impact Empowerment is not always about grand movements or public speeches. Often, it begins with the smallest yet most significant actions—right at home. When a young girl is taught to dream without limits, when a mother is encouraged to pursue her passions, or when a wife is supported to make her own decisions, that is where empowerment takes root. It starts with the words we choose, the support we provide, and the respect we cultivate within our families. - But empowerment is not just for women—it’s for everyone. - When sons learn that chores aren’t defined by gender. - When fathers uplift their daughters with the same pride they show for their sons. - When brothers become allies, not gatekeepers. These small moments create a ripple effect. A woman who feels valued and empowered at home carries that energy into her workplace, her community, and the world. She leads confidently, dreams fearlessly, and uplifts others along the way. We often say that change begins at home—but so does empowerment. A household that holds equality plants the seeds for a more inclusive society tomorrow. Let’s be mindful of our words and actions within our own walls. Let’s give the women in our lives the wings they need to soar. Empower a woman today, and watch a generation thrive tomorrow. #WomenEmpowerment #Lead

Last week I had been to North East and It's impressive to see the Northeast states prioritize #womenempowerment without #noise or excessive publicity about #diversity initiatives. It reflects a genuine commitment to fostering #genderequality and creating opportunities for women to thrive in various fields. The involvement of women in economic activities, especially in remote areas, is a significant step towards inclusive development. It not only empowers women but also contributes to the overall growth and prosperity of those regions. #womenempowerment from regions like the northeast and Himachal can serve as valuable lessons for the corporate world to learn and understand, how these states & society integrated women in various sectors without making much noise, publicity and empty talk around diversity/inclusion and made it as part of the social fabric. #womenempowerment #internationalwomensday #icfcoaching #executivecoaching #leadershipcoaching #linkedingroups
