X is shifting creator payouts to be less dependent on ads and more on engagement from Premium users. This change could encourage creators to prioritize content that generates replies, potentially leading to an increase in engagement-bait and misinformation. The move comes as X faces challenges with advertisers and seeks to address creator concerns about reduced revenue.

Ever wonder why some marketing campaigns just click? One word: COMMUNITY! Leveraging user-generated content (UGC) is a game-changer. When brands connect with real creators, it's not just about quality content—it's about building trust and authenticity. It’s about their aesthetics, attention to detail, and creativity! A thriving UGC community brings fresh, relatable perspectives that truly resonate with audiences. The impact of an integrated UGC community on brand engagement is like a secret ingredient that not only attracts significant attention but also fosters genuine engagement and attracts high-intent customers. From my experience in the industry, I've seen an abundance of UGC that remains untapped. Authentic customers crave this high-quality, niche-focused content. We’re proud to have brands like The Coca-Cola Company, Build-A-Bear Workshop, 1-800-FLOWERS.COM, INC., and MUSEUM OF ICE CREAM, just to name a few, as testaments to this approach. I understand why some creators don’t care about usage rights.. Let’s be real, how many creators ACTUALLY keep up with honouring their usage rights once the ad is live? Usually ads are live for no more than 6 months (if it’s really good) Not to mention the hassle of maintaining contracts with multiple clients is a lot harder than it seems. Since working on the brand side of campaign management, here’s my advice: 🎯 offer long term usage rights for first time clients (3-6 months) - this increases your chances of creating a long lasting rapport. 🎯 overdeliver, if they want 1 video give them 2. Brands can trial the ad through A-B testing. Promising you a repeat client. ❌ never offer ‘in perpetuity’ rights. Unless you’re comfortable knowing the brand has your content forever - LITERALLY. As a creator myself, I 1000% stand with other creators getting their moneys worth. But this solution provides a happy medium 😏 #ugc #contentcreator

The model so far: Content creators post content on media platforms for free or with subscription fees. The attention they garner on the platform is sold to brands to showcase and sell their products. Brands sponsor influential content creators so that they generate more likable and attractive content. For all of this, the media networks/platforms charge advertising fees from the brands. For specialized or exclusive content, they pay content licensing fees to the creators. In the end, the intermediaries - the media platforms take the major chunk of revenue from this content ecosystem play. #Web3 aims to disrupt this monopolistic reward structure by replacing advertising and content licensing fees, etc., with #tokens so that creators get a better share in all this play. #TMinsights

Marketers liking an ad ≠ users converting from that ad Many times, as marketers, we try to perfect an ad. Users do not convert to a nice or smart ad, they convert to a relatable, authentic ad. That is why marketers struggle to adopt UGC and consumers love it. If you want to organise your creator management, let's talk: https://lnkd.in/d6ZW6qm9

Direct-to-consumer subscriptions are set to become the dominant form of monetization for content creators, as ad revenue proves to be unpredictable and unsustainable. This model not only provides stable, recurring monthly income but also has the potential to turn the next generation of creators into billionaires. For example, a content creator charging $4.99 per month would need just over 16.7 million subscribers to reach billionaire status. With the growing trend of loyal audiences willing to pay for premium content, this path to immense wealth is more attainable than ever. Subscriptions are coming. Fanbase is leading the shift.

X has got a new concept for its creator revenue share program, with Premium users to essentially pay their favorite creators, just by engaging with their posts. And then they can monetize their content too, and their fans can monetize theirs. You know, like a 'benefit pyramid'. Full story: https://lnkd.in/gVBRCKa4
