Good to see that among the trend towards product design, content and the fusion of disciplines, Service Designers are still making the case for the trade as part of an holistic approach.

When implementing user-centred products, practice has shown that these four aspects need to be considered. The user value, the business benefit, the technological feasibility, but especially the organizational consequence. The last is often ignored, and many (self-inflicted) barriers to implementation can be traced back to this area. ➡️ Want to learn more about Service Design Implementation. To date, there is no model in service design research that offers a comprehensive analysis and structure of the influencing factors in the implementation of projects. Based on the empirical results, the KUER model was developed, consisting of four phases and main activities (see Diagram). KUER stands for ‘Key Prerequisites’, ‘Understand & Discover’, ‘Enable & Define’ and ‘Reinforce & Deliver’.", from Touchpoint - the Service Design Journal "Successfully Implementing Service Design Projects" - Tina Weisser - Birgit Mager (She/Her) - Wolfgang Jonas. Learn more about the KUER Model in the upcoming course Service Design Management from Dr Tina Weisser. Are your stakeholders living in the past, or are they afraid of the future? This workshop talks about time perspectives in humans and how it affects us, BAs.
"Systemic design", does that ring a bell? How about "Learn how to use the simple framework to allow for multiple design solutions to be brought forth quicker through dialogue and co-creation between all stakeholders involved." Dialogue and co-creation of solutions with stakeholders, that sounds like a key #businessanalysis activity. ✅ Curious? More details on systemic design are at the bottom of this post. Namahn is not only hosting our next Chapter event on "The role of the Future in the BA practice" with Vera Kralova, CBAP, our Czech colleague who will be present in Brussels for this hybrid interactive session on 14 May. They are also hosting a workshop on systemic design on the same day. Perhaps you can join both? So what is systemic design? Systemic design combines concepts of systems thinking and design thinking. It helps you zoom out and look at the whole problem. It makes you see relationships rather than single parts: studying how different people in a system interact and understanding how different variables relate to each other to cause a specific issue. This is why systemic design brings a set of solutions or, better, “interventions” that can reinforce each other to drive a change in the current problematic situation. After a systemic design process, you will know which projects can benefit from systemic design or what to redesign to create space for change (e.g. products, services, policies, procedures, etc).
