On May 21, we celebrate German Diversity Day, and I want to take this opportunity to highlight the often-unseen efforts toward diversity and integration. The EITEP Euro Institute for Information and Technology Transfer in Environmental Protection believes that diversity and integration provide immense value to society. Especially in times of skilled labor shortages, it's essential to integrate every individual into our community. We have already demonstrated our commitment to this by signing the Diversity Charter (Charta der Vielfalt e.V.) some time ago. Our goal is to make participation in our professional events accessible to everyone. Therefore: 🌟 We accommodate physical limitations, for example, by ensuring step-free access and providing high-contrast, large texts. 🌟 We cater to needs that meet religious, cultural, and physical requirements. 🌟 We provide specialized rooms to meet various needs of participants. 🌟 We support participants even before their arrival, such as assisting with visa acquisition and ensuring our event websites and offers are consistently accessible. 🌟 We are open to addressing any concerns brought to our attention. If you have any questions about accessibility or specific needs, please feel free to contact us at any time. We strive to accommodate you as much as possible. Let's live and strengthen diversity together! #VoteForDiversity #GDD #DiversityDay2024 #Inclusion #DiversityInPipeline #GlobalWomenInPipeline #DiversityInPipeline #Accessibility #Integration #ptc2025 #ptcBerlin

I believe in celebrating #InternationalMenDay, even if it sparks debate. Why? Because equality and inclusivity are journeys we can only achieve together. #EFSA's Executive Director intervention during the #EUANTalk of today has been really inspiring, some key points from that: 1)True leadership is not about stoicism or toughness—it’s about empathy, emotional intelligence, and fostering trust. Let’s embrace the vision of leaders like Jean-Louis, who stood alongside Rosa Parks and Martin Luther King, showing the courage to create “#goodtroubles” for necessary change. 2)#Feedback is essential—it helps us recognize blind spots, challenge biases, and grow as leaders. 3)Inclusivity isn’t just a policy—it’s a culture. By #dismantlingoutdatedsystems and embracing diversity, we empower everyone to lead, thrive, and feel valued. 4)Stay curious, respectful, humble and #opentotheunusual. Step off the beaten path and embrace opportunities to explore new and different perspectives with a sense of wonder and curiosity. #InternationalMensDay #GoodTrouble #poweroffeedback #Leadership #EUANOnlineTalk #DiversityAndInclusion #Equality #EFSA
International Men’s Day Today, on International Men's Day, we take a moment to honour the positive male role models who inspire and uplift us. From fathers and brothers to mentors and friends, men can model the values of integrity, compassion, and responsibility that help create a fairer, safer, and more inclusive societies for all. At the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA), our Executive Director will give an inspiring keynote speech, highlighting the importance of men as allies in our journey towards true equality and inclusivity in the workplace. Each one of us can have a powerful impact when we work together, supporting and learning from each other. Let's celebrate the men in our lives who are role models and commit to fostering positivity and growth together—today and every day. #InternationalMensDay #PositiveRoleModels #LeadershipByExample #EFSA

#Citizenship = inclusion that works both ways. How? We often talk about the importance of inclusion and feeling of belonging in a corporate culture. Inclusion creates an environment of trust, connection, purpose, teamwork, efficiency. It has been proven that a good corporate culture is a key element that is born out of a strong governance and can ultimately deliver strong results. Who is responsible for a creation and upkeeping of good, inclusive culture? Everyone is, everyone who cares about the success of the company. It's the magic circle of energy where people charge of each other and create ideas (a form of renewable human energy? Free of charge? ;) ) It works both ways - one must give in order to be given and vice versa. A country, in my opinion, is just another form of a "corporate" institution, slightly bigger indeed and the inclusion & culture is even more important in order to succeed. The United Kingdom welcomed me years ago, included me, taught me, shared it's values and culture with me, and it is time I included the United Kingdom... by dropping my guest gown and becoming a lawful citizen. Yes, I am now a dual citizen of Latvia and the UK. The moment was even more special for me as I was honoured and grateful to be presented my naturalisation certificate by truly inspirational people, one of them - "lady in red" - Mayor Nina Gurung, who has marked a significant milstone in the history of the country as first female Mayor of Nepalese / British Gurkha heritage. Here's to a diverse, inclusive, positively charged institution - Home! Personal post. Photo: personal archive Photo credit: Stanford Photographic #rolemodels #inclusion #lifeintheUK

Diversity isn't just a buzzword—it's a cornerstone of innovation, especially in the context of EU projects. When we bring together diverse perspectives, cultures, and experiences, we open the door to creative solutions that might never emerge in a homogeneous environment. In the realm of EU projects, diversity fuels better decision-making, more inclusive policies, and ultimately, more impactful results. It ensures that the needs of all citizens are considered and that solutions are tailored to the complex and varied fabric of Europe. By championing diversity in our teams and our projects, we not only uphold European values but also create a stronger, more united Europe. Let's continue to prioritize diverse voices in every step of our project development—because innovation thrives where diversity is valued. #Diversity #Innovation #EUProjects #Inclusion #EuropeanValues

How can institutions—at regional, national, and local levels—engage meaningfully with #youth and align their approaches with the needs and realities of young people today? This question was at the heart of a recent roundtable discussion hosted by the BIC Brussels Office, titled "Strengthening the Relationship Between Youth and Institutions: What Is Needed for Meaningful Engagement?" The conversation highlighted the need to establish a culture of engagement that extends beyond formal mechanisms and which is authentic and inclusive. Participants shared that central to such a culture is the creation of spaces for dialogue which are characterized by mutual respect and a posture of learning—one rooted in a shared commitment to addressing the aspirations of young people.
