On my way back from a few days away skiing today, and thought I’d share some parallels (pun intended) between skiing and our careers I’m not the most amazing skier, or the bravest or the fastest. You might think otherwise when you know I did two ski seasons. But I give it a go and for me part of a ski holiday is about being in the glorious mountains and also seeing my family who live there. When it comes to work there are lots of lessons from the slopes… 🎿 We all enjoy different challenges speeds and gradients, and EVERYONE is a different ability. A big element of skiing is going out of your comfort zone and the joy when you find a new moment of ‘I did it!’ 🎿 It’s inevitable that conditions might get tricky and we have to navigate those whether we like it or not. Preparing with the right equipment is imperative! 🎿 There may be obstructions and things in our way, other people we need to share the journey with. We need to navigate our own path and not let theirs confuse or distract us. 🎿 You might feel you don’t look so great but actually when you look back you realise you did ok!! And that everyone is worrying about themselves not how you look… 🎿 Some days you’ll want to quit. Some days you will quit! When you think of the top ski resorts, you will have guessed Aspen and maybe Whistler. But India, you say?
