John Hanrahan runs a 400-cow dairy farm along with a pig production unit near Granagh, County Limerick. John has partnered with CycleØ to build an AD plant on his land and sees this partnership as another important step towards securing his farm’s future.
“We decided to partner with CycleØ to secure the future of our farm. We’re looking at our slurry as fertiliser, not waste, and partnering with CycleØ will help us incorporate it into our system,” John says.

Up until a few years ago, Spanish integrators shied away from growing through farm ownership. Among many other factors, the consolidation of the pig production model in multi site type of production is changing the picture to a model based on sow farm ownership. Why is this happening? What are some likely consequences of such strategy on management of personnel, environmental aspects, and economic profitability of these integrators? Working through the BioPlan processes with a new grower in Dorrigo. They want to improve their pasture performance and think that they are potentially lacking something in the soil. So the best place to start is a complete soil test to take the guesswork out of the solution. We will then be conducting a control/treated BioPlan for next winter. So there's plenty of time to get the paddocks prepared. #bioplan#dataisking#measuremeasuremeasure
There is a simple saying "if you can't measure it, you can't manage it". This is so true in so many industries. Moreso if you want to provide solutions, rather than product driven recipes. The data we get from our testing drives our solutions, holds us accountable, but also opens up markets that have been "difficult" for other companies. This is because we utilise it to cut through the marketing smoke with structure and reasoning. #measuremeasuremeasure#dataisking#takingthebsoutofbiology#bioplan

The journey of a thousand harvests begins with the first seed. 🌱
Today, we began planting on Kwabla Farms. Without a planter, we turned to the traditional “Agric Method”—laying ropes to guide us and planting each seed by hand. It’s slower, but it ensures precision, and for us, it’s a step toward experimenting with maize varieties that promise the best yield.
This is what dedication looks like.
First 4 acres, here we come!
What’s a challenge you’ve faced where taking the extra time was worth

Tetris for the advanced! Yesterday, our sediment removal system, consisting a floor scraper and sediment separator, made its way to Argentina. Professionally packed in crates and loaded onto trucks by Huber & Sohn GmbH & Co. KG from Eiselfing, Germany. Thanks for the perfect cooperation again!
The destination is a chicken farm belonging to Ovobrand S.A. (Procesamiento Integrado de Huevo), an Argentinian food manufacturer specializing in the production of premium eggs and egg products with the focus on sustainable production and animal welfare. A state-of-the-art biogas plant is being built here to produce biogas from the chicken manure collected.
The particular challenge of this project is the high sediment content, such as eggshells and sand in the substrate. The FINSTERWALDER Self cleaning Digester - the patented system for removing sinking sediments - is the ideal solution. The sediment is continuously removed from the tank bottom during operation. This prevents the system from being shut down and avoids time-consuming and dangerous removal work. This saves time, money and nerves!
The Argentinian engineering and construction company TECNORED ENERGÍA Energia planned the entire system. The company has been dedicated to the development of sustainable energy projects with a strong focus on anaerobic bio-digestion technology for more than 15 years. Together with FINSTERWALDER Umwelttechnik, a solution was found to solve the problem of high sendiment content in the fermentation substrate.
