While hobbies may not seem to have a visibly linear correlation to professional success, it helps you if utilized well. As a 19-year-old student, I made several websites - from scratch, due to a my hobbies - photography, travel, etc. I designed the websites. I wrote content. I photographed. I did campaigns. I learned and implemented SEO strategies. I collaborated with brands. This was before the influencer boom, hence I did not know much, but said yes to opportunities I could find. Now when I had to apply for an internship, I showed these websites as my portfolio. The "defining" internship I got fetched me a salary of 5x of those usually given to interns. I pretty much led their content and communications - while being an intern. I got to work with people from top management colleges. It showed me that I have more options than to follow the clinical career route. It gave me a headstart. But more importantly, confidence. As a professional, I have very little time to pursue hobbies and to document them daily. However, having childlike curiosity, and trying new things is something that shapes us, and I think it's important we start nurturing the naive curiosity and childlike excitement to try new things even as busy professionals.

LinkedIn is one of the golden platforms for college students to find opportunities they never thought were even accessible. Here’s how it helped me: >> Visibility: It gives you a platform to highlight your interests and helps you get discovered by the right set of people. It also assists in positioning yourself better and building your personal brand around it, saving you from the hassle of sending thousands of cold emails for that one response. >> Showcasing expertise : Having knowledge in a particular field is helpful, but not until you let people know you exist. If you are skilled in graphic design, you can post static graphic design pictures. If you’re interested in cars, engage with people who build cars and let them know how you plan to add value in this domain. >> Networking : Studying and living in a college campus can be enjoyable, yet it might limit your interaction with people from various fields, leading to a lack of diverse perspectives. LinkedIn provides a fresh start to connect with individuals across multiple domains. PS : Start using Linkedin to your advantage if you haven’t already. #linkedin #college

I've had a few conversations recently with students and grads regarding internships and jobs. I thought I'd share the most common advice I've been dishing out — incase it's helpful to others that may stumble across this. Other people are way more knowledgeable in this area, so if you happen to see this — please share your helpful advice here too! 🙂 Look in the not so obvious places: I often hear the same agency / studio names come up when talking to students and whilst they're mostly super talented and worthy of praise — they're likely inundated with applications and emails. Try to find the hidden gems or studios that don't necessarily work with the biggest and coolest brands out there. Consider in-house: I haven't worked in-house myself, but there are lots of great benefits of doing so. You probably won't find these ads in the normal places and you could just ask the company about their creative team and potential opportunities. Your personal branding (including verbal) is really important: Communication is key in this industry and getting a role, so work on how you look and sound. Try and keep this in mind and rely on it for all forms of communication. BUT, don't forget that adaptability is crucial to studios because — whilst it's good to have a unique tone — you'll need to be able to adapt to suit other clients and brands where your personal voice won't always be relevant. Value values: Lots of studios / agencies state their values these days and often work with brands that share these too. I enrolled in a diploma course in Graphic Designing from Arena Animation, and at the same time, began my B.M.S at KC College 🔹Fast forward to 2021: I completed my diploma and stepped into the professional world on March 7th with my #firstinternship at Sports Finesse as a Graphic Designer and Social Media Manager. This wasn't just an internship; it was the beginning of transforming my theoretical knowledge into practical, real-world skills. 🔹The thrill of the industry hooked me, and I moved on to my next adventure at Study Cloud. With every project and every deadline, I grew more confident and skilled. By 2022, I was not just an intern anymore; I was juggling freelancing and a job simultaneously, taking on my own clients and crafting my unique path. 🎓 April 2023 was a milestone—I graduated from K.C College with a degree in hand and three years of professional experience already behind me. The biggest ever mistake in apply for Internship................ #everyone #apply #learn Canva I am going to take my words back those I said in the Past Post that I applied to the 30 companies for Internship for Finance but did not get any response from them due to their bad policies. I apologize. I got the reason why I was not getting the response from companies with having a good CGPA and many Certifications . Today I got the answer because I was using canva pdf of my resume . I came to know about the ATS Score , when I uploaded to check my score , websites were not able to read those pdf , This is the reason of not getting response. 🌟 How I Landed My First Internship 🌟 I used to feel like a total misfit, always depressed and convinced that I was no good. Forced into a degree I didn't want, I felt lost. But I had a friend who never stopped believing in me. He always said, “Tu kar to, ho jaega sab.” I never believed him. I would always think, "Kya hojaega? I’m not perfect, not in my degree, not in my hobbies. Who is going to trust me with anything?" But something changed during my 6th semester exams. Desperation and a tiny spark of hope pushed me to take action. I created my LinkedIn profile a month before the exams and went on an applying spree. I applied to 175 places, gave multiple interviews, and finally, I landed my first internship as a graphic designer! 🎨✨ Here’s what I learned from this journey: 1. Believe in Yourself (or at least in someone who believes in you) 🤝: Sometimes, all you need is a little push from someone who believes in you more than you do yourself. Trust their belief until you can trust your own. 2. Take Action, Even When You Doubt Yourself 🚀: If I hadn't taken that step to create my LinkedIn profile and start applying, I wouldn't be here today. Action beats inaction every time. 3. Persistence Pays Off 💪: Applying to 175 places was exhausting, but it only takes one "yes" to change everything. Keep pushing, keep trying. 4. Embrace Imperfection 🌱: I wasn’t perfect in my degree, nor in my hobbies, but that didn’t stop me. Embrace your imperfections and keep moving forward. To anyone out there feeling like they're not good enough, trust me, you are. Take that first step. It’s the beginning of the end of an era. I started my internship which is the last leg of my study today. And I am super excited 💃 Having the feeling of an office environment again after almost 2 years and I must say I can’t wait to learn and unlearn in this environment. Day one was subtle yet loaded and it sets the tone for the remaining days, weeks, and months already. Today, I worked on optimizing images for the company websites use. Chai, I thought website image optimization is the same as editing before now. This is why hands on experience can’t be compared to just learning.
