Finally sudo-rs has been announced! It's very rewarding to to work on high-impact open source software at Tweede golf bv, together with our colleagues from Ferrous Systems GmbH.

We’re excited to announce another new Prossimo initiative: we are bringing memory safety to sudo and su! It’s hard for us to imagine software that’s more critical than sudo and su. These utilities mediate a critical privilege boundary on just about every open source operating system that powers the Internet. Unfortunately, sudo and su have a long history of memory safety issues. That’s why we’re partnering with Tweede golf bv and Ferrous Systems GmbH to reimplement the ubiquitous sudo and su utilities in the memory safe language Rust, ensuring they won’t suffer from future memory safety vulnerabilities. Thanks to Amazon Web Services (AWS) for their generous support of this important work.
