A lot of people like to claim Pakistan is “strategically located” as a trade corridor. Let us break that illusion: There isn’t a single product in the world that, at any point, needs something moved from Kashgar to Karachi on its journey from manufacturer to end market. The Pakistani govt has repeatedly tried to convince countries like China to help us build our infrastructure. But China has no use for Pakistan’s infrastructure.
