Today we published one of our most advanced #cryopreserved models: Caco-2 cells cryopreserved in transwell format, with retention of their tight-junctions post-thaw. This was undertaken by Akalabya Bissoyi with Ruben Tomas and in collaboration with CryoLogyx Nina Kinney Tom Whale and our friends at Sustech. Caco-2 and other barrier forming cell lines are crucial in drug discovery to assess permeability and toxicity but it takes 20 + days from the freezer to using them, taking up signifcant resource. Our cryopreservation technology means the plates are simply taken from a freezer, and ready to use in just 7 days.
