September is Suicide Prevention Awareness month, and we will be taking the opportunity to raise awareness and remind ourselves to check with our co-workers, friends and family. Recent data reveals that suicide rates in England and Wales are the highest they've been since 1999. Every week, 132 lives are lost to suicide in the UK – nearly 19 a day – with 75% of those deaths being men. Suicide remains the biggest killer of men under 45, while rates among teenage girls and young women have nearly doubled.
