The write up has such a realistic POV! Offers some good food for thought. "The capacity to inquire allows for the possibility to interpret the situation in multiple ways, to know how others are approaching it (especially in relation to the leader’s role) and to realise what we might have ignored. Leadership is successful when overall anxiety levels in a group can be managed such that the team can operate, create and collaborate effectively." #Leadership #Emotions #KeepItReal #Conversations https://lnkd.in/dnpCfyxD

Do You Say “Take One for the Team”? When you use supposed morale boosting statements like "take one for the team", then ask yourself why you use them. Could it be that you don't really have the power you think you have? Or is it that you know what you are asking someone to do is out of the norm? Or not strictly part of the once-agreed-upon responsibilities? If you often hide behind take-one-for-the-team cheerleading, your team will wonder if you simply don't have the courage to do what everyone knows you should do yourself. We often think we're operating from a balanced, rational state, what's known as the "adult" ego state, where we communicate thoughtfully, solve problems, and inspire collaboration. But sometimes, we unknowingly slip into other modes, like the "Parent" ego state, where we become controlling or overly protective, focussing on how things "should" be done. It's a fine line, and often we don’t realise the shift until we see the effects on our team or outcomes. Take a moment to reflect: Are you in the adult, parent, or child state in your leadership style? 🔍 Recognising the ego state you are operating from can transform not only how you lead but how others respond to you. Which ego state do you think drives your leadership? #Leadership #TeamBuilding #LeadershipDevelopment

⚠️ Warning: One question can derail your team. ⚠️ Asking, “𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐝𝐢𝐝𝐧'𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐧 𝐚𝐥𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐲?” is a leadership trap. It creates a culture of blame and weakens trust within your team. Instead of asking questions that divide, ask questions that build solutions. Bridge the gap — don’t create it with your words. What words have you kicked out of your language? Leadership isn’t just about having big roles and managing teams. I’ve realised it’s in the little things we do every day. It shows in: 🗸 Knowing when to speak and when to stay quiet. 🗸 How we handle a long line when you're in a hurry. 🗸 How we support a friend who's having a tough day. 🗸 How we handle a noisy neighbour when one needs some peace. These small moments teach us patience, kindness, and good sense. Sometimes, the best leaders are those who lead through small, thoughtful actions. #Leadership

More wise words from Heather Campbell 👩🎓. How many times have you seen leaders in your organisation make these mistakes 🤔? I know I’ve made them myself 🤦🏼♂️. Leaders aren’t meant to have all the answers, and those that are nourished from the team are long-lasting because the team creates and takes ownership 🤝. Drop me a line to let me know how you’ve experienced this? #leadership #empowerment #learnfromyourexperience

3 tips to help 1.) People are more engaged in their work when they understand how they fit into the bigger picture. Leaders, spend time here so that people understand how important their work is. 2.) Create an environment where people can ask questions, as well as pose ideas and suggestions. People actively involved in solving problems are far more motivated and energetic 3.) Recognize success. Make sure you give people credit where it is due. On the other side of that, help guide people through mishaps. They'll work even that much harder for you if you care enough to help them. #connectivitymatters #leadership

Jeremey if you only knew how many people told me VNA would never work 1995-1997. A whole group of people from Cemax-Icon shut me down. I believed in the idea so much I quit and started Acuo in 1997 officially launched and funded Jan 1 2000. So many said I couldn't compete with the "big PACS" vendors. If I listened to them and didn't follow the real data demands then and now I would have failed. Dr. Michael McQuade came back to me 7 years later and said, "What you did will benefit us all in the future!" Now the data demands are 1000 fold today. AI is the new user and hungry! I even had an article in the Minneapolis Star Tribune written about me called "Skunkworks Yields Fruit". 3M allowed me to be creative and just think out of the box all the time. In the end sometimes when people say NO its because they simply don't understand. Its human nature. Thus why a big group is not the place to bring new ideas, they need to be grown organically with justifiable ROI (Clinical, Operational, and Financial). This is where most Chief Product Officers get it wrong. If the product, the feature, the function, the requirement is not sellable in the field you as an organization cannot afford to build it.
One of my favorite lines: If you want to kill a good idea, take it to a meeting. Group projects are like that. The only way to avoid this is to 'manage-up' the under-performers or help them find another company where they'll thrive. #efficiency #productivity #leadership
