Being preoccupied about what successful couples do to thrive in both profesional and personal life, I am reading an inspiring book: Couples that work, book written by one of my INSEAD professors Jennifer Louise Petriglieri. The book asks a lot of relevant questions for couples who go through different transitions like relocation, the birth of their first child, looking for meaning or for more clarity in their identity as professionals and humans. What I learned and I consider it a game changer if learned at the right moment: - Going through different stages is normal for any couple and we can learn beforehand from those who went through similar stages already; - The downward spiral moves fast so we better act as fast and have the difficult conversations with our partner; - The healthy relationship habits have to exist and support the relationship from the good times of the relationship, more difficult to create them while spiralling downwards; - Women usually compromise on their career more often, but compromise is not a (medium-long term) solution. In a duo career couple the only healthy way is for both partners to support each other to thrive in love and work. I am often asking myself the questions in the book and I recommend them to my coaching clients, but every couple has its own way of making things work. The problem is that these unresolved mother wounds can lead to behaviors like people-pleasing, a fear of rejection, difficulty setting boundaries, over-nurturing others, and struggling with self-worth. These behaviors not only affect our personal lives but also have a significant impact on our professional success. To begin the journey of change, we must first acknowledge these patterns. Integrating practices that foster self-worth, set healthy boundaries, and nurture emotional well-being are essential steps in healing mother wounds. Men are selfless and women are selfish. When men are successful, they think of how to support themselves, their wives, their kids, and family? When women are successful, they always seek for their own happiness by liberating (emancipated) themselves from men and their family (home wreckers). That is why they always say this to men, "your money is our/mine money and my money is mine money?" • Modern women earning their own money give them the illusion of power and freedom from the patriarchy and oppression by men. It give them the feeling of control over their own destinies and having autonomy over their own lives. • But, in reality, they actually signed themselves up to be debt slaves to the banks and tax slaves to the government, just like the men. They considered domestic works as slavery; so they demonized and shamed traditional housewives!! • Traditional people also believe in having a family, leaving a legacy, and being selfless. • Modern people believe they must work to make a living, do what make themselves happy, and look forward to their future of selfishness. • Traditional mindset (in accordance with God, biology, and Mother Nature) believes in balance, gender roles, and nucleus family structure.   • Modern mindset believes men and women are equal and both belong in the workforce, up keeping the economy and infrastructure?   • It is males' nature to be providers/protectors and females' nature to be caregivers/nurturers.   • When males and females go against their own nature, they are miserable.  Life no longer has meaning and purpose, only resentment towards each other. • After a hard day at work; modern men and women all head back to their own house of solitude and wish they were in relationships. • Nobody to turn houses into homes. The quietness and lack of physical interactions can make anyone go insane. Men and women are desperate to find companionships.

That was a big ask. Fortunately, Neo didn’t have to do it over and over again so we didn’t end up watching a romantic movie instead of that amazing Matrix. Because your business may never have that second chance. Therefore, you want something different. Different is better than better. It’s not about being the best because there are a lot of them. And this is economic 101, when you’re trying to compete with those who are more established than you right now, you just incrementally trying to outdo them at their own game. So, if you offer 2-5% better returns, well you know what, next month somebody will come to the marketplace and outdo you. If you’re not better, it means you’re gonna compete on price. And when you compete on price, there’s no loyalty. And when there’s no loyalty, you’ll find it so hard to scale and replicate your brand. So instead of trying to be better, to be different is the key to tapping into one of those qualities your business has. And you can infuse them constantly. It also makes your business something that your competitor cannot copy. So you have two choices only… 1) Have the biggest budget So that you can pound the message over & over again  -or- if you don’t, then you need to be more competitive, and 2) Be the most fascinating to make your customers fascinated, not only add value. When you fascinate your customers, clients, or your team, they’re only thinking about you. They’re not thinking about my competition, they’re not distracted, nor checking their phone, nor thinking about their next meeting, nor whether they’re gonna feed their kids for dinner. They’re just thinking about you.   And neurologically, in a state of fascination, the brain opens up. Fascination is an intense focus. It’s like the feeling of falling in love. They’re more likely to listen to you, remember you, and put in place what you say.    So your readers are not being cynical or skeptical, not thinking about NO. Don’t think of deferring their decision. They don’t buy by impulse, either. They’re just so ready to take action with the awareness your solution is the one. That’s how Monica Bellucci aka Persephone feels.
