Are you currently experiencing a life transition or period of uncertainty? If so, this blog post may resonate with you. "There’s a space between where you are right now and knowing what comes next. This space is called the in-between. It’s like looking ahead at the next chapter’s title while still having a few more pages to read in the current one or reading the description of the next episode in a TV series before finishing the current one. You have a general idea of what’s coming, but you don’t know exactly what to expect. Being in an in-between stage of life can feel unsettling, especially when you see the next thing on the horizon. You may have days, weeks, months, or even years to get ready for it. The longer the in-between period, the more unsettling it can become..." Each chapter of my Contentment Commitment book is anchored to a TV show. I did this to make it more relatable and less “sciency”. In the chapter focused on the Self dimension of Contentment, I used a quote from the character Sheldon Cooper on the TV series “The Big Bang Theory”. I chose the show because it was one of my older son’s favorites growing up, and I chose the quote because it makes me laugh. The quote also reminds me that while we all have our own quirks and issues, embracing them and leveraging them as strengths is a simple way to live a happier life. Focusing on your happiness is not selfish. Happy people make better friends, partners, parents and co-workers. #happiness #worklifebalance #contentmentcommitment

Consumption isn't always about what we eat 😉 The choices we make when we enjoy screen time can have an enormous impact on our wellbeing. Repetitive, scripted TV series can turn off our brains, so we effectively tune out (which can feel like relaxing, except we're not). It can even contribute to cognitive decline according to a growing number of studies, so if you're binge watching but can't remember what you watched, then it could be time to switch the channel. Personally, I've noticed that since we had Mr 12, I can no longer enjoy the same level of crime and drama that I had previously, and I tend to enjoy complex shows that kept me guessing (and awake!). So, if you're looking for something to challenge and extend your beliefs, and a complicated story line that keeps you mentally stimulated, then please check out these recommendations from the awesome team at The Greater Good: https://lnkd.in/gkZg4Dut And score brownie points if you talk about what you watch with another person, kind of like a TV series book club. #HealthyTV #wellbeing #Humanity #Choose #Watchwhatyoueat

Dad Share 🤠 I'd say I’m in the same camp as many new dads out there who are navigating their way to finding a healthy balance in their lives and relationships once kids come onto the scene. As expected, there was a big shift to my life when my son joined us 2 years ago, especially when it came to my priorities and the structure that I traditionally lived by. So, when I started noticing that things were harder than they needed to be, in true Dmitry fashion I got in front of a whiteboard and brainstormed a logical way to re-organise things, acknowledge the key drivers in my life and get back to a sense of normality in the most logical order. In simplest form, I broke it down to three key areas and ranked them based on my values: 1️⃣ Family 2️⃣ Work 3️⃣ Personal From there I wrote down: ✅ What each meant to me ✅ My key relationships and what they needed to be strong in each area ✅ Defined my dream state for each ✅ Creative ways to make them all work together Next step: 🤟 I shared them with my wife and put them into action 🚀 And guess what, overall, I'm proud of how things have worked out and I can honestly say that the above has been a big driver behind that. Every time I feel like I might be losing control, I always go back to Family, Work, Personal to quickly establish which is lacking attention and throwing out my balance. From there I can quickly get back to my flow-state and be the best Dad, Husband, Brother, Son, Grandson, Business Owner, Business Partner, Manager, Mentor and Mate that I can be. Hopefully this perspective helps wherever you are on your journey. I write this after listening to the Pop Culture Parenting Podcast where I learnt some insights through the lens of how The Matrix movies relate to parenting. Give it a go and see what you think!

Netflix and chill day! 📺 Is it? Except for me, it took me more than a day. It was •almost• the whole weekend *guilty, guilty* 😅 So to make up for the lost time I spent binging one episode after another (well, I finished the whole series and that’s 2 seasons in total 🙈), I decided to bring myself into the office. 🫶 Yes, on a Sunday! 🫶 But for you, it’s not a total loss if you haven’t finish the series #trustmeonthat so before you settle into another episode, perhaps consider making yourself a cup of coffee or tea 🫖 and consider this: Is your estate plan as captivating as that plot twist? 😯 ❗️What if it is? What if your estate ended up into the hands of someone else? What if your children are not taken care by the guardian you want? What if your beneficiaries get less than what you thought they might have gotten?❗️ Oof, the list goes on. Save your loved ones from unnecessary drama. Take a 20 minutes to think about yourself and your family 🙌 Now if you are intrigued, don’t be shy to hit that message button to connect with me. Since I’m working anyway…. Or schedule a 1-hour meet up with me! Get your estate plan started and I’ll show you how! ✨ Heyyy, my name is Kamy and I talk about preserving your legacy and all that’s related to it.
