Mr. Sanjeev Kumar Gupta, CEO of KDEM, delivered the keynote address at The India Advantage Summit [TIA Summit] 2024, held on September 25-26 in Bengaluru. During his keynote address, he emphasized the need to expand startup growth beyond Bengaluru, advocating for a broader, state-wide approach to entrepreneurship in Karnataka. He highlighted the "Spoke Shore Strategy", an initiative designed to foster vibrant startup ecosystems in emerging clusters such as Mysuru, Mangaluru, and Hubli-Dharwad. This approach aims to distribute growth more evenly across the state by leveraging local talent and resources. Key points from his address include: • Establishment of Over 47 Companies: In just 24 months, KDEM has successfully facilitated the creation of over 47 companies in these emerging clusters, demonstrating the potential of this strategy to drive rapid growth. • Developing Specific Expertise in Clusters: Each region is envisioned to develop niche expertise, with Mysuru focusing on cybersecurity, and Mangaluru advancing in fintech, helping to build specialized ecosystems across Karnataka. • Consolidated Information Framework: He stressed the importance of creating a consolidated information system to support startups. This framework would enhance visibility and provide greater access to resources, helping these startups grow and succeed.
