Today is Israel’s 76th Independence Day. It is extremely difficult for Israelis to ‘celebrate’ what is usually the most joyous day in the country’s calendar because it’s not easy to celebrate when we still have 132 hostages 🎗️ in captivity and we are fighting an existential threat. Against this backdrop, the people of Israel have shown resilience and strength, humanity and humility. The #IsraeliTech continues to deliver #NoMattersWhat This great annual article by Calcalist כלכליסט shows a mere 50 out of hundreds of fantastic Israeli companies who delivered excellent results and provided superb service to their customers. As per Calcalist, for Israeli companies ‘If you succeeded in 2023, you'll succeed in any situation.’ As an investor, would you rather back a comapany that delivers results when times are good or those who can deliver when times are bad? I know what I’ll chose. No successful company can say it always had good times, and we all know we learn from hardships and failures much more than we learn and grow from successes. Imagine what those companies will be able to achieve when good times come (because they always do). Well done to all the wonderful companies who made the list and those who didn’t who continue to deliver. #Israel’sIndependenceDay76

I am engrossed in Dan Senor & Saul Singer book, The Genius of Israel. This book offers a unique perspective, breaking down the defining factors behind Israel’s successful innovation trajectory. It highlights the success and the lessons other nations can learn from its development, making it a must-read for anyone interested in entrepreneurship and innovation. This book reveals the secrets behind the entrepreneurship craze of Israel's young generation, the engine leading the innovation train. The book goes behind the scenes of Israeli success through the incredible story of Yariv Bash, Kfir Damari, and Yonatan Weintraub, the three youths behind Project Beresheet, the first Israeli spacecraft that went to the moon. Against almost all odds, they can fall and get up again. They can fail and start over from the beginning (''Beresheet'' in Hebrew). Contrary to the stereotype of entrepreneurs, Israeli start-up founders tend to be surprisingly sober about their chances of success. It's not naive overconfidence that allows them to take risks. It is more about their ability to brush off and even appreciate failure. #CFO2Grow #MorethanaCFO #Failure SpaceIL Kfir Damari

A year has passed since October 7th. One year after that awful morning for the State of Israel, the Jews, and all those who reject terrorism. One year on, the Israeli high-tech landscape continues to demonstrate resilience and steadiness. One year on, the Israeli spirit remains unstoppable, allowing the startup, its founders, venture capitalists, and technology to thrive in Israel. From October 7, 2023 to October 7, 2024: 1. Israeli startups raised 9$ billion 2. Israel was ranked third in the world in terms of investments in startups (%) 3. Not a single venture capital firm in Israel closed! And the foreign venture capitalists are still here. The Israeli high-tech sector continues to lead in luring investments despite both domestic and global crises. On this day, we want to express our gratitude to everyone who has served on the front lines and feel the sorrow for the families of the fallen and the 101 hostages, who we all hope will soon be freed 🎗️ Yaniv Jacobi Lior Segal (ADV) Bar Maaravi Tom Kaverman Ortal Litvak Gali Bitran #NoMetterWhat #Israel #Startupnation #horizoncapital #NeverAgain

The morning after. I’m in Israel, and I was awake all night watching the news and hearing the planes and the Israeli defense systems intercepting the insane Iranian missiles attack on the country. It was scary but at the same time there was something in the air, call it energy, that made me believe that it’s going to be Ok. I didn’t live here for almost a decade but it’s still my homeland, my family, friends and where we have many clients, partners and colleagues. The past 6 months were extremely difficult for this country from October 7th until last night, but despite all that I still believe in the country’s ability to recover and in the Israeli tech industry to prosper, and we’ll continue to grow our business here; Israel has established itself as a global powerhouse in the field of technology, consistently pushing boundaries and redefining what is possible. The nation's vibrant tech ecosystem has fostered a culture of creativity and entrepreneurship, leading to groundbreaking advancements in so many sectors. One of the key reasons why I have immense faith in the Israeli tech industry is its unwavering commitment to innovation. Israeli startups consistently demonstrate a remarkable ability to think outside the box, finding ingenious solutions to complex problems. Their willingness to embrace unconventional approaches and challenge traditional norms has resulted in groundbreaking inventions that have revolutionized industries worldwide. Moreover, the resilience of the Israeli tech industry is truly awe-inspiring. Despite operating in a region that faces its fair share of challenges, Israeli entrepreneurs have shown an unwavering determination to thrive against all odds. This resilience is deeply ingrained in the Israeli spirit, and it fuels a culture of perseverance and adaptability. The ability to navigate uncertainty and bounce back from setbacks has allowed the Israeli tech industry to flourish and emerge as a global leader. I have no doubt that the Israeli tech industry will continue to inspire and shape the future of innovation for years to come and we’ll continue to support Israeli startups to achieve their goals! #IsraeliTechIndustry #Innovation #Resilience

Israel is known as "startup nation". And world leaders are the VC who always has a reason not to go all in, and is always wrong. Every single country including so called allies, did nothing but try to convince Israel to give up. Just like VC investors rejecting founders. Dispensing their advice to pivot, change focus, and explaining why the idea would never work, now is not the time etc. And all this with zero skin in the game, and mostly unsolicited... But guess what? These all knowing "VCs" we're proven time and again their predictions are simply off. Here is a partial list: * Israel - "we're going after Hamas in Gaza" The world: "You can't. You will create 100k dead in a week" Israel - gets best civilian to combatant ratio in history, 10x better than any similar war * Israel - "we will pursue the tunnels" The world: "We couldn't do it In Vietnam, it's too dangerous" Israel - develops new tech and tactics. No tunnel is left unturned. Hamas dying in tunnels in hordes. * Israel - "we are going into Rafah" The world: "You cannot evacuate a city and keep people safe" Israel - brings un tents and evacuate area by area. * Israel - "we will rescue hostages by force" The world: "You will never bring them home alive". Israel - goes in and releases several hostages in several occasions * Israel - "we will knock out Hezbollah" The world: "they are too strong". Israel : kills all the leadership within 10 weeks. Hurts thousands of operators in beeper explosions. Goes into Lebanon and exterminated their bases. * Israel "we will get Hamas leadership" The world: "they are in Iran and under ground, you will never get to them, you will only hurt hostages" Israel: Kills them Haniye inside Iran's secure building, Sinwar during his flight to a new hiding place. ******* I wonder what would it take for these nay saying "leaders" and "allies" to learn Israel plays a different game. Time to update their outlooks and start actually supporting Israel vs. Trying to discourage us and be proven wrong over and over again.

👇 If you're a founder or investor who likes to keep your finger on the pulse in the #startup world, then you're gonna want to check this country out. 🇦🇲ARMENIA🇦🇲 Decades ago, #Armenia earned the nickname "Silicon Valley of the Soviet Union," and things have only gone up from there. In the last several years, Armenia saw its first two unicorns, 💥Picsart and 💥 ServiceTitan — for reference, that puts it ahead of the per capita unicorn rate of countries like Germany, South Korea, and Canada… that's a HUGE deal. ⬆ ⬆ But they're just getting started. In the next 5 years, Armenia is projected to see 10(!) more #unicorns. At that rate, it'll be ahead of the US, Israel, and Singapore in unicorns per capita! If you were to map it out in unicorns per million people, it'd look like this: 🦄🦄🦄🦄🦄🦄🦄🦄🦄🦄:🧍♀️🧍🧍♂️ 👀 Which companies in Armenia are you keeping your eye on? #armeniantech

Assaf Rappaport, Yinon C., Ami Luttwak and Roy R., we are proud of you! 🤗 💪 We typically don't post exits by founders who are also 8200 graduates. It's partly due to modesty and partly because it's become a recurring Israeli success story. Our focus is on empowering Israeli society through our incredible alumni network. Wiz's remarkable achievement, if finalized soon, is definitely an exception. It reminds us that the tech scene is a space for fulfilling dreams and building a stronger Israel. It also underscores the importance of equal access to the high-tech industry for ALL Israelis. That's exactly what drives our educational programs Aharai TECH | TECH אחריי and TechLift 8200, our professional training initiatives, and the 8200 For Startups platform with its ideation, acceleration, and early-growth programs that are open to every Israeli and not just ex-8200s. This also underscores the enduring value of the 8200 Unit as a cornerstone of the "Startup Nation." It reinforces the immense power and responsibility we, 8200 alumni, hold to continue leading the Israeli tech scene alongside the amazing talent from all walks of Israeli society. Israel tech delivers. Period.🇮🇱 #israeliinnovators #startupnation 🇮🇱#8200alumni Screen shot from CTech by Calcalist
