OK, so National Inclusion Week is coming to an end and we’re sharing the third and final article in our series which is all about being an awesome ally! 🤘In this article, we dig into what it really means to be an ally. 23-29 September is National Inclusion Week. It is good to draw attention to the need for greater inclusion and I applaud Inclusive Employers for organising this. I do however long for the day that inclusion is so much the norm, we don’t need a specific week to draw attention to it. If you are organising events this week, good luck, and I hope they open the door to deeper change for you and your organisation. #inclusion #diversity #equity #leadership

Reflecting on National Inclusion Week As we wrap up National Inclusion Week, let's take a moment to consider what inclusion truly means and how we can foster it in our daily lives. Inclusion is about creating environments where everyone feels welcomed, respected, and valued for who they are. It's about embracing our differences and recognising the unique perspectives each person brings to the table. Making our daily lives more inclusive: At Work: ✅ Listen actively to colleagues from diverse backgrounds ✅ Challenge unconscious biases in decision-making ✅ Ensure meetings and events are accessible to all At Home: ✅ Teach children about diversity and respect ✅ Create a welcoming space for friends and family of all backgrounds ✅ Consume media that represents diverse voices and experiences In the Community: ✅ Support local businesses owned by underrepresented groups ✅ Volunteer for organisations promoting inclusivity ✅ Advocate for accessible public spaces and services This week reminds us that inclusion is not a one-time effort, but an ongoing journey.
