Thanks a lot for overwhelming responses and best wishes on my recent role update! The story started more than 2 years ago: We generally are given a role after doing the responsibilities for certain period by gaining experience, meeting certain criteria etc., But there is another option that Tata Consultancy Services provides with it's Elevate Wings Program. Every TCSer up to certain designation can define an aspirational role on what we want to become in 2 years. There is structured learning path with certain competencies, industry relevant certifications, dedicated hours of learnings to gain relevant skills over a period with various milestones to achieve the desired state. Sounds tiring ?! After registering for my aspirational role 2 years ago, I felt the same! So much learning, so many skills to attain, I thought I would rather wait for my turn to get the role by virtue of experience. After doing some random efforts for several months initially, much needed clarity and support came in the form of town hall under the leadership of Gurpreet Kalra FLPI, especially from Tirth in his team. I quickly joined a dedicated team’s channel for Wing2 program where I got lot of answers for various assessment details, course schedules etc., Teams channel gave success stories in different role paths, challenges, guidance from few who have completed certain milestones. Although there are some success stories with other roles in my current project I see no one with my Aspirational role and what really triggered me to take up the challenge was lot of near impossible and several years of dedication and wait messages to accomplish the desired state. With careful planning over several months in attending trainings, clearing assessments, obtaining competencies and certifications, I have cleared certain milestones to be eligible for high talent monthly incentive part of elevate wings program and recognition for the efforts with TCS Gems. Recent role change is part of the program, and the journey continues with further milestones to clear. Besides monetary benefits the experience of learning over several months has been truly rewarding and really helped me do my job better with relevant skills. Whatever I have achieved so far wouldn’t be possible without the support from Gurpreet Kalra FLPI, Tirth Mathuria, Tamali Ghosh and many more in Talent Development team and Vinod Rajendran, our account learning coordinator. Most importantly TCS leadership support from Balamurugan Muthukumarasamy (Bala), Senthil Kumar & Shantanu Chatterjee creating the environment to learn & grow, guide and mentor to achieve that role. Thanks to my wonderful team as well who took care of the work while I was attending my training. Important lesson for me was never stop trying the harder path, there will be very few but the experience of the journey is enriching and the end result is rewarding. Happy to help fellow TCSers in Elevate Wings program with similar journey from my experiences!
