If you had to talk about some challenges currently faced in the widespread adoption of V2X technology, what would they be? In fact, I would also love a post talking just about these challenges.
Number 3 above is not accurate. ITS is not reducing traffic or taking vehicles off the road. The technology is there to provide visibility to existing traffic in order to make management of it more effective by traffic engineering practitioners.
Think beyond the loop. Yes it is reliable, but why restrict your data to what you see on the road. Why cut 10+ loops at night with permits, deposits and weather issues. Why deal with people cutting into your loops in the night. Granular data of vehicles and pedestrians in the vicinity of the intersection is available with LIDAR. Let's go!
