Baby #2 is on the way, and I’m so excited to bring all the lessons from my first pregnancy and that intense first year of balancing business and motherhood along for the ride. One of my tried and true beliefs is that life is full of seasons. For moms, these seasons can look a lot like: the pregnancy season, the newborn season, the maternity leave season, the back to work season, the daycare season, etc. etc. etc. Each season requires us to adjust how we're tackling it. And sometimes, the systems that work for one season don't work for the next. One season you can count on every year is the holiday season, and, dare I say-it's here! I want to remind you that even though this season is relatively short, when you compare it to others, it packs a punch. Your current system for organizing your life may not be the right system for the holidays. That's ok. Embrace the change. Welcome it. And know, it's temporary. In growing you, so too grows my appreciation and love for my own body ❤️ This journey of pregnancy is not just about caring for a little one, it’s about caring for myself in a whole new way 🌺 What changes do you need to make in order to move yourself to the top of your priority list? ✨ For myself, this has looked like a lot of different things, including: ⬇️ •narrowing down my focus to my key priorities and letting go of non essentials •setting boundaries and speaking up about what I need in order to function at my best •practicing more self compassion and accepting however I feel emotionally and physically •being comfortable asking for help •prioritising healthy meals each day •going to bed early •being more mindful and loving each day as it comes Too often, I see people trying to do everything and be everything for everyone. We have a tendency to wear busy-ness with a badge of honour and take pride in acting more like humans doings than the human beings we are. Both in business and at home, it's important we accept our own limits and that we have a finite amount of energy and time in a day. Being able to prioritise effectively and see the bigger picture of life can help us to better pace ourselves and protect our wellbeing, while showing up in our life and careers with a greater level of honesty and intentionality. If you're driving, find a safe place to pull over as soon as you realize that baby is indeed on their way. Turn on your hazard lights to alert other drivers. ### 3. **#Call for Help** Dial emergency services immediately. They can guide you through the process over the phone and send help your way. Don’t hesitate to call them – they’re there to support you. ### 4. **#Make Comfort a Priority** Use whatever you have in the car (blankets, towels) to make yourself as comfortable as possible. Your comfort is crucial during this unexpected but beautiful moment. ### 5. **#Let Nature Take Its Course** If the baby is coming quickly and you can’t make it to the hospital in time, understand that most car births go smoothly. Support the mother in a position that feels natural to her, keeping her warm and comfortable. ### 6. **#Don’t Rush** Do not rush or force the delivery. Let the baby come at its own pace. Connect with the deeper meaning behind your goals. Why do you want to be successful in your business? How is it going to have a positive impact on your life and the life of your little one? Embracing your purpose will fuel your motivation, even when you feel less than glamorous.(and that,s ok ) Oh, and don't forget to celebrate those small wins! No matter how small, every step forward deserves a little dance party. Acknowledge your progress, pat yourself on the back and let that confidence boost propel you forward. Surround yourself with a tribe of positive influences because you deserve nothing less than that. Seek out other female entrepreneurs to uplift and inspire you. Join communities, find mentors and soak up their support and encouragement. Remember, you're not alone in this journey. Self-care, my love, is non-negotiable. Take care of your beautiful pregnant self. Get enough rest, nourish your body with nutritious food, and move your beautiful body in a way that makes you feel good about yourself. Exercising like Pregnancy yoga, pilates, walking, swimming, and dancing are great for the body and mind. Engage in activities that bring you joy, fun and relaxation because a happy mum is motivated. Stay present; Focus on what you can do right now instead of getting overwhelmed by the challenges ahead. Take small, intentional steps every day and trust. You can do it; your baby cheers you on from the womb! Finally, stay inspired. Surround yourself with stories of incredible women who have overcome challenges and succeeded. Read books, listen to podcasts and watch videos that light that fire in you. Let their stories remind you of the limitless possibilities that await you. Remember, motivation may ebb and flow, and that's OK.
