It's pretty much a wrap for us at Seatfrog. After Monday we will all be out of office as we commence our Christmas closure 🎄 I'm so grateful to have a leadership team who genuinely cares about our wellbeing and encourages us to take a break, both by implementing initiatives, and by modelling what good balance looks like. Lately LinkedIn is an absolute echo chamber of the same old debates about WFH, office closures, mandated returns to office, 4 day weeks, flexible working and it seems nobody can agree on how to treat employees. It's insane to me that 4 years ago the whole world was operating (and booming) from people's living rooms. What exactly is there left to debate? While thousands of people are arguing about all the above, we're working a 4 day week, smashing targets, hitting record revenue days every week, and we're closing for Christmas so we can just... be humans? Imagine that haha what a novelty to allow people to be at home, resting, with loved ones. And when I see conversations about which job board is the best for recruiting devs, or desperately asking how do we find great technical talent, well the answer is never a job board! The answer is so simple that it makes me want to scream: Create an environment where people are trusted to do the work they love, give them the tools to do it, and give them the time and space to tend to their personal lives. And they'll absolutely flock to you. Because really that's what people want and need, to make a living, to be trusted, and to be human. And that is what Seatfrog does so well. We champion the idea that you don't live to work, but that you work to live. It's so simple. Merry Christmas, we'll see you in January!
