Generative AI's Role in Film The use of generative AI in the film industry is becoming increasingly mainstream, as studios employ these technologies for tasks such as lip-syncing actors' performances across different languages and enhancing special effects. An example is the use of a de-aged deepfake Harrison Ford in "Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny." The ethical implications of such technology in the film industry, including concerns around the potential misuse of AI by studios and the impact on actors' rights, are significant. The evolution of filmmaking and the changing landscape of actor performance through the use of AI tools is a topic warranting deep analysis. #GenerativeAIFilm #AIinHollywood #FilmTechInnovation #DeepfakeEthics #CinemaAI #MovieMagicAI #SpecialEffectsAI #EthicalFilmMaking #AICreativeIndustry

"AI video is too slow-motion and morphy for AI to EVER replace normal production methods" (paraphrased from a colleague). Bro. It took literally one day between that comment to me and this Sora demo dropping. It has been half a year since Runway's image-to-video. Sora is about to drop. Just as AI is obliterating "old normal production methods" at warp speed, it's also obliterating its recent selves. The pace of massive leaps forward seem to be once every quarter, two quarters at worst. You have to think about where this goes in a few months, much less even a few years. You'll then start to see the deterministic inevitability. You want to go where the puck is going, not where it was. THIS now is the least capable and worst AI filmmaking will ever look. I'm truly excited about the #progress of technology and its significant benefits throughout history for humanity. I'm always at the forefront, ready to embrace change, innovate, and continuously adapt and #grow. However, I can't help but wonder if the #power of the internet is increasingly becoming centralized in the hands of a few companies. In economic terms, what are the consequences of AI software like #Sora? Does it lead to a further centralization of power, or am I just ideologically musing? With the potential for thousands in the production, cast, and crew sectors to lose their jobs, it's uncertain what new employment opportunities might emerge, possibly stimulating the economy. #Innovations such as the mechanical phonograph cylinder were initially thought to replace musicians, yet they ended up bringing music to the world, revolutionizing the industry, and #boosting musicians' incomes. So, what future are we facing? Are we experiencing a recurring cycle of technology panics, or is this situation unique? Are major tech companies monopolizing the value and flow of money on the internet? Are small #businesses, #creators, and users sufficiently incentivised for their creations? Might a more decentralized internet, granting us greater control over our data, content, and time, be the answer? Or, as a society and as individuals, are we unable to adopt and choose alternative solutions, possibly leading to the need for a Universal Basic Income, as Rutger Bregman suggests in his insightful book "Utopia for Realists"? Blockchain technology is touted as a solution to the problem of internet centralization, as Chris Dixon discusses in his compelling book "Read, Write, Own." But are we capable, both individually and collectively, of making decisions that benefit the broader community and ensure long-term advantages? Do we need a more #decentralized structure of internet power? I'm keen to know your thoughts on this subject. #ai #tech #innovation #decentralised Immerzo #internetpower #future

The adoption of AI in entertainment represents a groundbreaking opportunity to redefine the production framework. However, it also raises concerns about oversaturation and the challenge of effectively reaching intended audiences. Balancing innovation with strategic audience engagement is crucial, and a decentralized framework may offer a solution to these challenges.
“Without a doubt, AI is going to disrupt things.” 20-time Staff-Pick winner and pioneer of AI-driven filmmaking Paul Trillo shares his take on the future of #AI in the creative space.
