In environments where every voice is heard, where diversity is celebrated, and where belonging is not just a word but a lived experience, magic happens. Inclusive teams aren't just about ticking boxes; they're about fostering a culture of respect, empathy, and collaboration. They're about recognising the unique strengths that each individual brings to the table and harnessing them for collective success. So, to all the organisations out there, let this be a call to action — a reminder that investing in inclusivity isn't just the right thing to do; it's a strategic imperative. It's about creating spaces where everyone feels valued, supported, and empowered to thrive. Together, let's build workplaces where inclusivity isn't just a buzzword but a cornerstone of our success. Our June campaign aims to highlight and celebrate the diversity and inclusivity efforts within workplaces. By showcasing the practices and perspectives of business leaders, HR professionals, and business owners, the campaign seeks to inspire others to adopt similar inclusive practices. To start off our 'I am Inclusive' campaign, we have Jane Hatton (she/her), founder and CEO of Evenbreak. We were delighted to ask Jane the following questions: ➡ What does inclusivity mean to you, and why is it important in the workplace? Inclusion means everyone feeling valued and supported, and enabled to work in ways which suit their individual preferences or needs. ➡ Can you share some examples of inclusive practices you have implemented in your workplace, and why are they important to you? Maximum flexibility means that all team members work in locations and at times which suit them. Workplace adjustments are provided for everyone, which could include assistive technology, communication methods, management style, ergonomic equipment/furniture, software, time for prayer or quiet times and much more. ➡How do you ensure that diversity and inclusion are integrated into your company's culture and values, and what steps do you take to promote a sense of belonging among all employees? The company's business plan, including financial and non-financial targets, pricing, strategy and so on is co-produced by the whole team, so everyone has input and ownership. Everything is underpinned by our values, and leaders receive 360 feedback from all of the team against those values. Everyone's contribution is welcome and is acted upon. Thank you so much, Jane, for taking part in our campaign and championing the efforts and practices you have in place for an inclusive workplace. Keep an eye out throughout June for practical tips employers can implement for inclusivity. . . . #Disability #DiversityAndInclusion #WorkplaceCulture #DisabilityConnect
