Why does it feel like extreme storms are happening more often? It all comes back to climate change. As the Arbor Day Foundation has said before, trees are not a silver bullet to climate change. Humanity must reduce its dependence on fossil fuels to make an impact on emissions. Even in this challenge, trees lend a helping hand (or branch?). Planted in the right place and managed properly, trees can lessen the need for heating and air conditioning, reducing even more emissions. We remain steadfast in our dedication to utilizing nature-based climate solutions to nurture our world’s ecosystems. We’re hopeful more planting partners, corporations, and project developers will continue to engage with this mission. Utilizing the voluntary carbon market as a tool, we can drive meaningful and enduring systemic transformation for life and prosperity on Earth, our only viable home.
Supercharged hurricanes are our new reality. How can trees help?

🔷There’s no doubt that Americans like to measure things (how much…?, how fast…?, how big…?, etc.,). 🔷What gets measured gets managed and recorded. 🔷😀We thought this article was useful because we don’t have clear measures for climate change (like mortality related to climate change) and, as a consequence, we probably don’t agree on the impact or manage climate change as effectively as we could. #climate #health #climatechange

New Climate Bill Alert! As climate impacts escalate, there’s an urgent push to revive the New York State Sea Level Rise Task Force. Spectrum News NY1 reports that a new bill aims to bring the task force back — its last report was released in 2010. With rapidly changing conditions, it’s crucial to have up-to-date data to guide effective adaptation strategies for sea level rise. “It’s really important to make sure that we are preparing for that risk in the long term,” said Tyler Taba, WEDG, Waterfront Alliance's director of resilience, emphasizing the need to shift from a reactive response to disasters toward proactive resilience. “It always feels like we are responding to those events rather than being prepared and thinking about how to plan.” Watch the report here: https://lnkd.in/gDg4hsfw
