The biggest mistake I see in sports sales reps growing their careers? Losing that inside sales rep mentality. Here’s what I mean 👇 In an inside sales role you’re thinking: - I can’t believe I get to work in a stadium - I need to study my craft more - I will volunteer for that event - I have to outwork my peers After promotion it changes to: - I have to go to work - I have this thing figured out - Somebody else needs to volunteer - I don’t want to look like i’m trying to hard The principles we preach on day 1 are preached day 1 because they are the most important. Don’t forget what got you there. ✌️ If you want to see more posts like these click on the bell on my profile to be notified when I post content every weekday at 8:05am and 1:05pm EST. #LinkedinSports #SportsBiz #Sales

2001: Paperboy 2005: Minor Hockey Referee (Was so excited about this one!) 2006: Minor Baseball Umpire 2008: Gorcery Store Stock Boy and Clerk Off to University! 2009: Brand Ambassador and Events Lead 2010: Weedman Sprayer 2011: GPS Location Verifier 2012 & 2013: Road Construction Site Flagsman University Graduate (Now I'll work in my desired field - right?!) 2014 - 2017 : Bartender, Server, Expo 2017: Tobacco Brand Ambassador 2018: Technology Sales Representative 2024: Self-Employed/Business Owner I've had A LOT of jobs 🤣 Many of which overlapped with eachother or bled into multiple years. Most of them were not very glamorous, but every single one of them taught me invaluable lessons. Lessons about the value of hard work, the importance of having a good mentor, time management and organization, and probably the most important lesson... I learned what I DIDN'T like and what I didn't want to do with my life. My tip here for people that don't feel they're in the right career - You're not wasting time, you're just figuring out what you don't like. Each job you hold that isn't for you is preparing you for the perfect one down the line. And if you feel like you'll never find what's perfect for you - time to start a business! 😎

The Hidden Secret Behind Andy Elliots Success (Its probably not what you think) Why are some people able to close more sales than others.. While other people struggle to close sales and have a great career after doing double the work?? It’s all because of this one thing. I’ve had over 10 clients in the past year alone double their sales and hit record months without doing more 💡 Malachi went from barely making any sales to averaging 1-2 sales per week for 5+ months and becoming a top G-League rep 💡 Devyn just closed 40k in sales in the last two weeks 💡 Nick sold the most tickets to a women’s basketball game in Seton Hall history The list goes on…. And I’m sure you’ve heard the saying from Andy Elliot (one of the best salesmen in the world)… “If you don’t put your health first, I assure you, you will never change, you’ll never become who you want.” And I couldn’t agree more! Every single client who’s doubled their sales without extra effort has put their health first… Please help me give a round of applause for my guys for changing their life and creating the life they want👏🏻 Will you be next? #sportsbiz #linkedinsports #sports #sales #executive #health

Practice….Train….Practice….Train Almost every level of sports practice and train. Pros practice, college practice, K-12 practice. Hell, my son is 5 years old and learning to play hockey. He practices every week. The only leagues that I'm aware of that don't practice are rec leagues and beer leagues. When I show up to some beer league hockey game for myself or a rec league basketball game, I am relying on skills I learned years ago to hopefully get me a goal or basket. I’m rusty. I’m out of touch. Sales isn’t a rec league or beer league. We are Sales Professionals and we need to constantly train and practice no matter how many cars you’ve sold and how long you’ve been in the business. Why do some sales associates feel like they don’t need to practice. Why do they feel like they can just wing it when they are with a customer. A former Manager of mine once told me ‘just practice those word tracks with customers. You may screw some up and mess the deal up, but it will help you learn for the next one’. Thankfully I did not pay attention to that awful advise. We don’t show up every day to sell cars. We show up to provide great buying experiences for our customers and help them throughout their buying process. When we have a customer in front of us, that is NOT the time to practice. That is game time. If we choose to practice with our customers we are not only doing ourselves a disservice, but more importantly we are failing our customers. #cardealership #sales #salestraining #firstimpressions #carsales #automotive #personalbranding #chevrolet #chevy

What place does sports have in sales? A massive one I think, I have lost count of the amount of sales leader and top preforming sales people I have met who have come from a competitive sporting background. Why are they so good? Probably because they’ve been exposed to competition, resilience, and discipline from an early age—qualities that are essential in sales. What I have learned from my own sporting background. 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞'𝐬 𝐚𝐥𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮 - Growing up and having Ciaran Kilkenny on your team was a humbling experience to say the least - and it thought me no matter how good you think you are there is always room to improve 𝐍𝐨 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐧𝐲𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 - You need to prove yourself each and every game 𝐋𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐬 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬 - The highs are high and the lows are low, but you need to keep pushing through 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐬 𝐤𝐞𝐲, 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐞𝐱𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐬 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 - You can plan all you want but if you don't deliver when it really matters its meaningless. I will buy you a coffee if you guess the year of this picture and which player is me... #sports #techsales #sales #recruitment

I'm unconventional! I'm also Hiring! A good work day for me is barefoot on fancy grass that feels good between my toes. Eating peanut butter sandwiches in the shade. Sneakin' in a few casts on ponds full of fish. (with permission of course 😉) And, watchin' people dressed funny say the "F" word a lot. All in all, not a bad day in the office. Other days, I volunteer with adaptive golfers, and special olympians, and my veteran friends. Again, not so bad for a work day! And those are the days I want more of...for myself, and for others. We've got a big pivot happening with CourseScout! We're shifting operations to better serve golf's fundraising market. And with that, an opportunity exists for sales reps to help us drive the growth. Qualifying the clients is easy, targets are plentiful, and commissions are high. The goal is to scale hard on the backside of 24 heading into the 25 season! This is you: Love the chaos of startups! Believe sales people should make more than anyone! Can back that statement up! Love Golf! Hate Bullshit! Can see the canvas from the frame! (thank you Waymon Bryant) And a strong hatred for the following statement; "That's just how we've always done it" We're already working with a select few tournaments to build a story of new revenue and superior value! I need people to help tell that story. #opportunity #newgrowth #golfprofessionals Pictured: 10th Hole, Diamondhead Cardinal Course, Diamondhead MS

Sales professionals can learn a lot from athletes...Jalen Brunson's from the New York Knicks statement after losing game seven really resonated with me (even as a Celtics fan): "I go into the summer every year looking back on how I could be better as a player, to be the most complete player I can be...The most important thing that I need to do is to continue to just strive for perfection, just strive for perfection, and knowing that I'm never going to get there." As a sales person, whether you are just starting your career, you lead a huge team, and everything in between, the message here is simple: you are never done developing and if you want to be #elite you have to keep working to get better. You will never be perfect but you can chase perfection and get better every. single. day. Things you can focus on getting better at: -discovery -follow up -mirroring/labeling -negotiating -presentations -researching -writing .... #development #hardwork #practice #masterofthecraft #getgoodatgettinggreat
