The Thai Pilots Association rightly opposes allowing foreign pilots for Thai carriers when there are around 1,200 unemployed Thai student pilots. Many experienced Thai pilots also lost jobs during COVID-19 and await rehiring as fleets recover. While hiring foreign pilots may seem convenient for ramping up flights, it undermines job prospects for Thai nationals. The government should prioritize supporting and creating opportunities for its own pilots trained at institutions like the Thai Aviation Academy. Protecting employment for Thai pilots in their own aviation industry should take precedence over short-term operational ease of hiring foreigners. The recent safety rating downgrade for SriLankan Airlines after the cockpit lockout incident could have a noticeable impact on tourism especially with the peak season starting from November onward.. I’d say this raises concerns for travelers, particularly those prioritizing safety when choosing airlines. A drop in confidence could lead to fewer bookings, which is worrying since airlines like SriLankan play a key role in bringing international visitors.. Air india ✈️ has recently tweaked it's policy for cabin crew members, particularly focusing on layover allowances & accommodations. 1. Layover allowances:-- (a) Increased allowances: The allowance for international layovers has been increased from 💲75-100 per layover night to 💲85-135. (b) Domestic Layover Benefits: These have also been upgraded as part of the new policy. 2. Accommodations:- (a) Room Sharing: Cabin crew members👮 will generally have to share rooms during layovers . (b) Exceptions: *Cabin executive * Cabin crew members 👮 on ultra- long - haul flights ✈️ ( 16 hours or more) will get single rooms during layovers & unscheduled layovers.
