🌍 Sustainability in Conference & Banqueting: Will We Do More If We Don’t Do Enough? Therefore, it can be seen that while the world is moving forward towards sustainable practices, the hospitality industry is somewhat lagging behind it in certain aspects particularly, the conference and after being involved in the conference set up and I can say , we have a lot to do. After all, who has the primary responsibility of sustainability if not the hospitality worker, the event planner or the continuously attending conferences-goer? We all have a part to Play. So how can we organise an event without harming the environment but very importantly, without compromising on quality? Here are a few ideas I thought of after noting them down: -Go Digital: Instead of conventional paper brochures and the schedule adopt to digital ones. ‘’QR codes are amazing!’’ or we can use large pads to display meetings that are in occurrence. -Eco-Friendly Materials: Relocate to the use of reusable or biodegradable products especially when choosing materials for setting up parties. Little sacrifices such as replacing paper napkins with cloth ones imply a lot. We can also adopt and use the glass water bottles instead of plastic bottles. -Local Sourcing: Minimise the carbon emission through ordering foods and drinks from local suppliers. Fresh, seasonal, and delicious! -Waste Management: Adopt sound Waste Management Policies. Are you recycling properly? What about composting of food wastes? Energy Efficiency: Make sure that you have good control on the amount of energy that is being used for lighting, air conditioning etc. Those are some of the changes we can do during our conference set ups and events. What else can you add? #sustainability #conference #events #hospitality #WeOnlyHaveThisEarth.

Hospitality Trends in 2024: #3: Sustainability and Eco-tourism Guests are more eco-conscious than ever. It is engraved in the daily lives of most Europeans as basic habits, therefore restaurants and beach bars that are advertised sustainable, resonate with them on a different level. Single use plastic cups, straws and water bottles for example are not as tolerated by guests as owners might think. Even though global initiatives and EU legislations are pressuring business owners to change mindset, you can still meet cafe and beach bar owners who proudly tell you to take a plastic straw because "it's better" . We understand that hospitality is a busy environment where ambitious grand systems are near impossible to implement and come at a cost, however let's be honest, how many F&B owners and operators actually have sustainability in the top 5 priorities. Isn't just easier to stick to the old ways and simply close our eyes? Instead of pushing the eco dogma down the throat, we want to focus on how certain practices can make an impact and BENEFIT THE RESTAURANT-BAR OWNER financially, cost effectively and improving brand sentiment, driving more guests in, some of which; *Innovative biodegradable materials for single use products *Introduce reusable beach equipment *Promote recycling and proper waste collection *Kitchen and bar team waste handling training *PV installations *Water filters and water saving devices *Beach cleaning initiatives *Leverage green marketing potentials *Focus on local, seasonal ingredients We are determined and passionate to build more eco-friendly hospitality businesses, let us help you to stay relevant and transition into this era, because it is already here to stay. We developed a realistic approach, implementing small every day actions and attainable goals that are easily understood by all team members. Let's create a business you can joyfully call yours! Always looking for ways to make a positive impact – even in the smallest ways. Last week my Canvas Meetings & Incentives red reusable coffee mug saved me from so many single-use cups on site 🥰 It was a simple but powerful reminder that sustainability can be a part of everything we do, no matter where we are. I’ll admit, I’ve been a bit disappointed by the single-use coffee cups some hotels still rely on. So, I’m making it a point to always have my own mug with me on site. Here's to a greener events industry, one reusable cup at a time! ♻️ ☕️ #SustainableEvents #CanvasMeetings #EcoFriendlyChoices #sustainability #eventprofs #reducereuserepurpose
