Here's an improved version: F&B (Food & Beverage) videos are often successful in gaining views on TikTok. However, the truth is that these screenshots are NOT from F&B-related videos. They are of educational videos featuring talking heads and faceless videos with only voiceovers. The reason your video may not be performing well is that your content still needs improvement. Here are a few things you can work on: 1) Your hook: Crafting an engaging opening to capture viewers' attention. 2) Your storytelling: Structuring your content in a compelling and engaging manner. Think of your content like a favorite dish at a restaurant. Now, I'm not suggesting you to start biting your screen, 🤦♀️ but what I'm trying to say is... When you serve someone their favorite meal, they keep coming back for more because it satisfies their taste buds and makes them happy. 📊🍇 Using Data to Elevate Wine Storytelling 🍷✨ Yesterday, I had the honor and privilege of conducting a public speaking workshop for the GuildSomm International community. Among other things, we talked about assessing and preparing for the audience, as well as the power of data in crafting compelling wine narratives. As an example, I brought out this recent study, "Consumer Choice Factors in Selecting Wine," (Corsi & Thach, May 2023) – it reveals specific factors that influence wine choices (among consumers in the U.S., Australia, and Italy), such as price, food pairings, grape varieties, and packaging. Some of the results surprised us, and others…not so much. But what we all agreed on was that by leveraging this type of information, wine and hospitality pros can tailor their messaging and offerings to resonate with distinct customer groups, creating a more personalized and engaging experience. In every public speaking context, we have the opportunity to delight and inspire our audience and exceed their expectations. However, with limited time and plenty of distractions, it’s all the more important to understand what drives them, so we can focus on the most impactful channels and messages. Whether you have weeks to prepare a presentation or a handful of seconds to size up a guest at a restaurant, the time spent understanding your audience will pay dividends in terms of ROI and loyalty. A note of warning: While data provides valuable insights, it should complement rather than overshadow the creative aspects of storytelling.
