In my short time here I have seen so many examples of employees that have been given fantastic opportunities to learn new skills or develop existing ones. Opportunities in new roles, education outside of work and so much more. I can't wait to take advantage for myself and become a better version of me. Earlier this year, I was laid off from my corporate job… It was the best news I could have hoped for, giving me the push I needed to bet on myself and chase my passions. 🙌 Fast forward to today: I’m thrilled (and still a little in disbelief) to share that my voice is featured in Captain Morgan’s new national campaign, “Less Scroll, More Vibes.” This moment is more than just a career milestone. In 22 minutes in the studio, I earned more than half of what I used to make in a year at my old corporate job. But more than the paycheck, it’s proof that betting on yourself is always worth it, even when the path forward feels uncertain. 💯 The casting for this campaign was incredibly competitive—open to any gender, any ethnicity, as long as you had an authentic Canadian voice and strong comedic timing. Out of all the amazing talent, they chose me. 🤯 Since leaving my 9-to-5, I’ve been able to work on creative projects I love, on my own terms. I’ve traveled to New Orleans (and somehow ended up at Jimmy Buffett’s jazz funeral?!), spent a month in breathtaking villas in Thailand and Bali, and saw The Rolling Stones live in three different cities this summer. 🛫 To anyone out there grinding, doubting, or questioning if it’s worth it: keep going. The wins make all the hustle worth it, and moments like this remind me why I took the leap. Here’s to chasing your passions, trusting the process, and betting on yourself. Today is my ten-year anniversary in the industry. From trainee lettings negotiator in Fulham to being responsible for Berkshire Hathaway's sales and lettings teams across our London network, here are ten simple things I've learned over the last ten years, from myself and some great people. 1) Choose your mentors carefully. 2) Keep it simple - do the basics at an elite level. 3) Find a way to put yourself in the other person's shoes and see things from their point of view. 4) As a negotiator, be selfish with your time; as a manager, be selfless with yours (focus on winning through your team versus wanting to be the star yourself). 5) Control the controllables (the serenity prayer mindset!). 6) Focus on the process, not the results. 7) Challenge and teach versus being an order taker and yes-man. 8) Choose your mindset/Expect the best - look for the positives rather than the negatives. There are always some! 9) Deny the drama (decrease the stress). There will be tough days, weeks, and months. It doesn’t mean you are suddenly a bad salesperson. 10) Free yourself by giving yourself a structure. What’s in the diary gets done. (Bonus) Always be coachable and wanting to learn new ideas !
