Question / info for my UK agency freelance buddies. A friend is thinking of freelancing and wondered how to get contract jobs in the UK, agency / delivery background. I figured my list below might be useful for other folks out there as I've had similar conversations a few times over the last months - and: am I missing stuff? I haven't personally used most of these for a hot minute, so I'm not sure what new things might be good for UK agency delivery contract roles. And separate question - having just glanced around, looks like PM delivery contract rates *suck*. Most looked like £220-320 per day - back in 2008, when I started freelancing, I charged more (and that was very much in line with normal rates back then - wasn't even being cheeky!). Is this the new normal? LIST FOR UK AGENCY / DELIVERY FLs YunoJuno - one of the few freelancer marketplaces that are excellent for UK agency contracts, usually have a few delivery contracts going. Other general job sites which often had delivery / agency jobs: LinkedIn, Indeed, Jobserve, Glassdoor, Reed, CV-library, Computer Weekly Recruitment agencies with good amounts of agency / delivery work: RedCat, Digital Gurus, Preferred Choice, Major Players, Roome, Zebra, Source, Red Sofa, Sphere, Premier Longer term - I personally use TopTal, as they have more fractional and remote options; freelancer marketplace. Occasional agency delivery roles, though usually US rather than UK. Slow and difficult to get in (challenging recruitment process!) but very much worth it, IMO. My referral link is in the comments for mutual kickback if anyone wants in.
Years ago I used to contract via Head Resourcing - they still have a contractor arm and they're on some large PSLs.
