Because they both demand of the designer an in-depth knowledge of the level of the conditions and sporting movements that the apparel will need to conquer. You need to identify that which increases performance- you need to understand human explosive motions - the muscles involved and optimum techniques an athlete uses to compete. You need to engineer into the garment muscle stimuli. For golf/baseball is rotational sports I call this Swingchronization®️
