"Do it scared." "You don't have to BE brave, you just have to ACT brave." These are 2 mantras I try to live by and am trying to teach my kids, too. Being scared can hold you back from so many things! If I didn't live this way, I would probably still be working inside the walls of a school - don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with that! BUT, I never would have pursued new professional opportunities over the last 2 years that have resulted in career growth and a work-life balance I never could have imagined. Personally, I also never would have attempted not one, but two of my first official 5k races -- I'm NOT a runner, nor will I ever actually enjoy running.. but I finished both of these races and even PR'd. (Adding a race day photo for proof!) If you're even considering something else, TRY IT. Apply. Take the leap. Try a new position. You don't have to be perfect at it, but you'll never know unless you TRY. Schools will be there if you decide you want to go back. The fear of the unknown is real. But, do you always want to look back and wonder what would happen if you hadn't at least tried? #growthmindset #failforward #transitoningteachers #whatif
100% do it scared. I think most people worry if they have what it takes, even the most accomplished who we think would never struggle in this, do.
Well said Lindsey. so proud of you - you go girl!!!

1moOne of my mantras is that sometimes to get there, you first have to act as IF you are _____(brave, feeling positive, excited to exercise, etc...). Spending time in the "as if" space is often enough to get me to where I want to be.
