But there is good news: the number of investments worldwide going to female founded start-ups increased this year by 70% worldwide in comparison to 2023! This is exactly why, I was exited to be part of Frankfurt Accelerator, Female Edition by Maria Pennanen and 🏄 Ram Shoham Shoham 3 months ago. The problem I see with female founders seeking investment in the tech scene, is how we present ourselves and our USP in a limited amount of time (4 Mins) in front of a diverse audience. Male-founded teams receive nearly 92% (source: EC - COM(2020) 152 final) of all the capital invested in Europe, leaving very little for women-led companies. This figure is not just statistics; it is a reality for female founders like me leading an innovative startup and encountering manyfold challenges in gaining recognition in the entrepreneurial world. Initiatives such as the EmpowerHer Pitching Event, in which I participated on 20 March, together with esteemed colleagues, Maria Cano, Karin Dodič, Marina Cvijanovic, Liliana Correia, Mateja Angelina Kramar, Sonia Zappitelli, play a crucial role in addressing this imbalance. Through the support of EEN (Enterprise Europe Network), female founders like me had the opportunity to pitch their ideas and receive valuable feedback from experienced mentors Selma Prodanovic🎤, José Vilar Gonzálbez, Raffaella Bruzzone, Marta-Patricia Aparicio y Montesinos. The Department for Business and Trade's Venture Capital Unit has launched a national campaign to identify the UK’s 10 most promising tech female founders. These founders will form the cohort for 2024 and will be given the opportunity to engage in the following: 1. The Venture Capital Unit’s first ever female founders brochure. This will feature the businesses of the female founders and will be circulated to investors across the world. 2. An intimate breakfast session with senior prominent VC investors that will offer advice on how to scale their businesses. 3. Opportunities to meet with senior mentors across the VC industry. 4.
