"It's beginning to look a lot like..." The incredibly busy end-of-year when your teams are trying to balance work, getting in that PTO, and family time with projects that need movement, wrapping up, new ideas, and so on. Everyone's sharing productivity hacks and tips for managing the chaos. Here's my radical suggestion: Do less. Not everything needs your energy right now. Not every email needs an immediate response. Not every meeting needs to happen this week. I once watched a brilliant leader handle pre-holiday overwhelm. Her secret? A sticky note with three words: "Impact or Cancel." That's it. Every task, meeting, or decision got measured against those words. And her productivity? Through the roof. I've never forgotten it. Sometimes the simplest solution is just permission to prioritize. #KeepItSimple #Leadership #Productivity"

Do you measure success by the hours your team works or the value they create? We often hear about productivity hacks and time management tips, but how much focus do we place on true output? In a world where burnout is rampant, it's crucial to shift our perspective from hours worked to actual accomplishments. Empower your team with the flexibility to structure their day around delivering results rather than just clocking in hours. Trusting your team to manage their own time can lead to higher engagement, creativity, and ultimately a more successful organization. Remember, it's not about being busy; it's about being productive. #Leadership #TeamBuilding #Productivity

Leaders, how’s your team holding up? Are they motivated, or are they feeling that mid-year slump? SHRM’s latest research found that 44% of employees are feeling burned out at work. Burnout can hit anytime, but it often sneaks up on us around mid-year—when the excitement of new beginnings fades, and the finish line still feels far away. So, how do you keep your team motivated and engaged during these tougher months? One effective strategy is to shake up your goals—both big and small. My team and I recently embraced 10X thinking during our mid-year strategy session. This powerful idea encourages us to aim for exponential growth rather than just incremental improvements. Instead of asking, “How can we do this 10% better?” we’re asking, “How can we do this 10 times better?” It’s a mindset shift that encourages bold, innovative thinking and ignites a passion for what’s possible. Imagine the impact on your team if everyone was working towards goals that truly inspire and challenge them. The enthusiasm, the creativity, the drive—it all comes from thinking bigger and believing in those big possibilities. Curious about how 10X thinking can transform your goals? My recent #LoveMondays dives into this mindset and offers practical steps to start your 10X journey. No one's running at 100% 24/7 (...as I post this on a Sunday afternoon). Hard work requires time to recoup, and it's hard to recharge effectively if you're in back-to-back meetings. I just had another conversation this week on the topic of "non-stop" meetings and how the habit kills productivity. Meet when it's purposeful, and let your team gauge what's valuable beyond that. #Leadership #Productivity #Value

If you or team have overwhelm creeping in, we’ve all obviously been there. Having capacity alerts in place can save you and your team from burnout. My baseline go-to kit looks like this. 📅 Regular check-ins in weekly syncs and generally being available — setting time aside to talk about how much we’ve got on our plates, without judgment 🗣️ Open conversations. I always invite folks to speak up when they’re feeling stretched 📊 Tracking bandwidth: It’s not just about tasks—it’s about how much space you and your team have to get things done What tools do you love to keep you your team from hitting capacity overload? #leadership #remotework #remoteleadership #wellness #balance

I've led teams for over 20 years - a big lesson I learned? At first, I struggled to maintain habits in different seasons. → Now, I know regularly reassessing priorities is critical. Here’s why: 1. What worked for me yesterday may not be best today. 2. What was important before may not be as much now. 3. New seasons bring new opportunities to consider. The result? I keep growing while living more fully. Reassessing took me from discontent... ...to enjoying the journey. When seasons shift (professionally or personally), I: 1. Take a step back. 2. Evaluate what matters most now. 3. Give myself permission to do things differently. Because growing things are changing things. Don't let what was keep you from what could be. ♻️ Repost to give leaders permission to make a change. What’s your tip to help leaders reassess what matters?

"But they know they don't have to respond!" This is what leaders tell themselves about after-hours emails. While working with an executive who sent messages to her team on weekends and evenings, she firmly believed this. Reality check: Even without explicit expectations, employees felt compelled to respond. What seemed harmless was actually creating a culture of burnout, with team members feeling perpetually "on." The solution? One simple change transformed their company culture: Schedule Send. By scheduling weekend and evening emails to deliver during work hours, this leader sent a powerful message about work-life boundaries. The result? A refreshed team, clearer boundaries, and improved well-being - all from one small adjustment in communication habits. #leadership

3wI love this advice! This reminds me of the quote "What is important is seldom urgent, and what is urgent is seldom important."
