Womanism is a social theory deeply rooted in the lived experiences and traditions of Black women, emphasizing the importance of community, resilience, and holistic wellbeing. 💟💡 Lilac Impact Services uses womanist principles to apply comprehensive approaches. There is an awareness that it takes time and effort to unpack the challenges that mold a group’s capacity to be effective. Leadership is much more about listening and presence than delegating roles. As Rev. Dr. Emilie Townes wrote, we must think about the places we occupy and our commitment to the people there. We all bring our experiences and perspectives into every space we are in. It is important to acknowledge this and pivot collectively as needed. Lilac is focused on continuous learning and applying the theoretical to practical, real-world solutions. #Womanism #LilacImpactServices #CommunityEngagement #Leadership #HolisticApproach #ContinuousLearning #BlackOwnedBusiness #SocialImpact #CapacityBuilding #Consulting

"Let's be very clear: Strong men - men who are truly role models - don't need to put down women to make themselves feel powerful. People who are truly strong lift others up. People who are truly powerful bring others together." - Michelle Obama These words remind us what real strength and power look like. It's not about dominance or belittling others. It's about empowerment, unity, and mutual respect. In a world that often confuses aggression with strength, let's celebrate those who: Encourage rather than criticize Support instead of compete Listen more than they speak Recognize that diversity is our greatest asset Whether in our homes, workplaces, or communities, we all have the power to lift others up. By doing so, we don't diminish our own light - we make the whole world brighter. This was one of the most impactful sessions for me today. She shared we have currencies at work. 1. Performance currency - it peaks when you start a new job then levels off 2. Relationship currency - it actually goes up and can determine so many things. I have always believed in relationships and this just gave me another way to articulate it. I grew today and I plan to share it with my team and my mentees. Most importantly, let go of fear. “Fear has no place in your success equation” Conferences for Women
📣 "Fear has no place in your success equation." What a pleasure to hear from Carla Harris at the National Conference for Women. She shared invaluable pearls of wisdom on maximizing your success, whether you're comfortably settled in your current position or eyeing the seat you aspire to. Among those pearls: ‣ Be authentic; it's your competitive advantage. ‣ Understand the market value of your position and advocate for yourself. ‣ Diversity and intentional inclusion are critical for leadership. An area to *really* focus on. Building your relationship currency. The "currency" that is generated by the investments that you make in the people in your environment. Emotional intelligence and authenticity are two of the most important traits of a good leader, unfortunately still not fully understood and sometimes even underrated against old style ‘ I know all, I am never wrong’style of bosses . I like the fact this post emphasizes these qualities both for men and women, that can succeed in this change through collaboration, only teaming up and being candid with each other. It is also true that not all the teams are ready to immediately change; sometimes openness is misunderstood, but also this is a part of a process of transformation and education.
While emotional intelligence is often discussed, vulnerability, the ability to be open and authentic with emotions, remains less explored, especially for men. Let's unpack the power of #vulnerability in leadership. Join us today, live from the #EqualityLounge at #CannesLions2024, as we hear from male leaders as they discuss their career stories, the challenges they faced, and the benefits they've experienced by embracing their full selves at work. I read recently that more women than men go through burnout or at the edge of it every other time ! Do u know why? Because the rules we play by are not meant for women Because the pressure to be the best is always over our head - unconsciously If you are a Female Leader looking to bring back that equilibrium while still aiming for the stars then save the date and block your spot Introducing HerVoice Collective a platform for female leaders to lead and yet live The community by Trade License Zone for female leaders Registration link in the comments
Get in the habit of saying this 👇 "Just because I can, doesn't mean I have to". Women possess the capacity to accomplish anything they set their minds to — not to suggest that men lack this ability, but rather because women inherently possess a focused energy that can be directed with precision toward a goal or individual. However, this balance often becomes disrupted when we enter a state of hyper-independence. At Her Voice Collective, we are striving to restore equilibrium for women who are capable of achieving great feats, while also empowering them to encourage others to carry their own burdens and embrace accountability. A female leader is expected to embody empathy - but empathy doesn't mean allowance for non-accountability. Feminine Leadership is functioning in KINDNESS + ACCOUNTABILITY If this is something you are ready to explore then join us on 17th May for a morning workshop.
