Are your working from home healthy?. Here are the tips you need to put in place in ensuring your working from home is healthy considering your well-being and your mental health!..
Starting a new job working from home? It's important that you spend some time getting your home office set-up right. Here are the tips ;
1. Choose a designated space
Working from home can blur the lines between work and private time. Setting clear boundaries will help, like picking one specific place to work. This can really help you get (and stay!) in the zone, while physically leaving that space at the end of the day can help you switch off.
2. Find a quiet place
Pick an area that is relatively quiet, away from flatmates, children and pets, so that you can concentrate on your work as well as hold uninterrupted conversations over the phone or on video calls.
3. Keep it tidy
Unless you're lucky enough to have a large home office, space is likely to be an issue, and clutter can easily build up. Physical clutter can lead to mental clutter, so make a conscious effort to keep your workspace tidy.
4. Check your tech
Do you have everything you need to be able to do your job from home? From hard drives to headsets, let your employer know what you need. Also, check that your Wi-Fi is up to speed – is it time to upgrade to a more reliable Wi-Fi package?
5. Choose an appropriate chair
You're likely to be spending a lot of time sitting down, so choose a chair that's comfortable and offers the right support. If you can, get a chair that adjusts to your needs, ensuring that there's sufficient leg space for you to stretch and move.
6. Adjust your monitor
Invest in a monitor stand or arm to ensure your monitor is at the correct height for your eye line. If you have to look up or down at your screen, it can cause neck and shoulder issues in the long run.
While the above steps may not be the first things you think about when preparing for your new role, they can really make all the difference when it comes to your well-being and productivity, so make sure you give them proper thought.
Have a nice weekend !.
