International forestry group Södra is a collection of more than 50,000 family foresters in southern #Sweden who have set ambitious #sustainability goals, which include the collection and interpretation of #climate impact data for very part of their value chain. It all comes from the understanding that sustainability isn’t constrained by organizational or system boundaries, and that’s apparent when Södra estimated they have a positive climate impact being equal to about one-fifth of Sweden’s reported carbon dioxide emissions. But after spending 20 years meticulously maintaining sustainability spreadsheets in a very labour-intensive process, the team realized they needed an AI-powered solution to realize their sustainability goals. After adopting #Microsoft Sustainability Manager, the team now have access to a rich and dynamic data store which analysts can use to answer queries and analyse impact with greater granularity faster than ever before, enabling them to understand their sustainability performance across their products, make recommendations about business operations and analyse their net carbon storage.
