On Friday July 19th, I said goodbye to Google. Two weeks prior I had accepted an exciting offer at a different company and handed over my resignation. As I look back, the memory travels to 2008, during my first road trip through California: my friends wanted to divert to Mountain View to see Google's offices. I begged them to just drive straight to Los Angeles. I really couldn't understand what there was to see in an office, and I didn't even think there was a physical office behind a search engine. A year later, I walked into Google's EU headquarters in Dublin as a Noogler, and started answering calls and emails from AdWords clients. I was 25, Google was 11. Google had an office after all! Fast forward 15 years, I've seen this company turn 15, 20, 25 and launch products that changed the world. I leave behind the tech company that the entire world relies on daily, but I'm keeping friendships, life long relationships, memories, experiences and the tons of places I've visited through the years. My gratitude goes to all of the people, managers, colleagues and friends who gave me this incredible opportunity and made me grow at Google. Starting from my very first hiring manager, to the leaders who promoted me, those who brought me to Mountain View, to Marketing, to Consumer Apps and then Commerce. A special thank you to all the amazing Product teams I've had the fortune to meet, work with, and be inspired by. I really watched the future being built. My job is done: I now know what an incredible world is behind that search engine. Forever thankful for this privilege. Will think of it every time I Search On. -- Stay tuned for my next adventure: it will be in Madrid, Spain.
What a journey! All the best for your life after the Big G. I am sure you'll do great things. I still remember the amazing community we had in the Dublin teams ca. 2009. I could only describe it as "Erasmus with a Salary" and it is amazing to see what everyone is doing these days.
I still remember fondly our first years at Google, the unbounded optimism, the fun and productive environment, the great co-workers we had. Good luck on this new adventure, caro Leo! You deserve the best :)
I was there in a lot of your "first days" and I can just say I am honoured we got to share so much of that incredible journey. But most of all I am incredibly happy to call you friend. Good luck for an amazing new adventure 💚

Congrats Leo on your next chapter, I know you will achieve amazing things! Although we didn't work together on core-role projects, it was great being a member of IMC with you. I really admired the points you made during Inclusive Marketing reviews! Wishing you the best in this next stage of life!
