Have you ever felt like you're just waiting in the hallway, not sure when the next door will open? As a leader or even in your career, those in-between moments can feel isolating. But here's the thing—waiting isn’t wasted time. It's a space where our character is shaped, our patience is tested, and we prepare for what’s next. Instead of letting frustration or irritation take over, use this time to reflect, grow, and become the leader you're meant to be when the right door opens. Accomplishments versus Achieving True Purpose Accomplishments and achieving true purpose are related but distinct concepts in the context of leadership and personal fulfillment. Accomplishments typically refer to the tangible outcomes, achievements, or successes that a person has attained in their personal or professional life. These can include accomplishments such as earning a degree, receiving a promotion, winning an award, or completing a project. Accomplishments are often measurable and can be recognized by others, and they can provide a sense of achievement, satisfaction, and external validation. On the other hand, achieving true purpose goes beyond accomplishments and involves aligning one's actions and choices with their core values, passions, and sense of meaning in life. It is about living authentically and in accordance with one's deepest sense of purpose, which may involve making a positive impact on others, contributing to a greater cause, or pursuing personal growth and self-actualization. While accomplishments can provide a sense of external validation and short-term satisfaction, achieving true purpose is more about finding intrinsic fulfillment and living a meaningful life that is aligned with one's values and sense of purpose. True purpose is often a lifelong journey of self-exploration, self-awareness, and continuous growth. In the context of leadership, skillful leaders recognize the importance of both accomplishments and achieving true purpose. They set goals, drive results, and achieve tangible outcomes, but they also understand the significance of leading with purpose, inspiring and motivating others, and creating a positive impact beyond just achieving short-term accomplishments. Skillful leaders strive to align their leadership style and actions with their deeper sense of purpose, and they encourage and support their team members in finding their own purpose and fulfilling their potential. While accomplishments are important, achieving true purpose involves going beyond external achievements and aligning one's actions and choices with their core values, passions, and sense of meaning in life. Skillful leaders recognize the significance of both accomplishments and achieving true purpose, and they strive to lead authentically and make a positive impact on others while pursuing their own sense of purpose. #accomplishment #truepurpose #leadership #leadershipadvisor

Great article that gives a reminder that I think many people need to hear at some point in time: "None of us stays exactly the same throughout our professional and personal lives, and who would want to?" Your professional and personal goals will likely change throughout your life, and that's not only normal, but healthy—it means you're growing! Don't be afraid to move past an old goal if it no longer serves you and your aspirations. It's a sign of evolution, not failure. #Leadership #Growth #Success

"Our life purpose is at the heart of who we are. Our values are the guiding principles we will not compromise for short-term gain. Our purpose is our "why," and our values are the "how" for living our most meaningful life. It's about living a life with intention and meaning. Our purpose and values act as a guide for how we live and work." Impactful leadership literally has to do with how you are standing. In a recent post, I introduced the notion of a “Stand” (you can find a link in the comments). Here I want to expand on it a bit. For those of us who are committed to having positive leaderful impact in the world: If we look deeply within ourselves, we recognize that there is, when we are truly “in our game”, a deep connection to purpose. Something we’re committed to. I call such a commitment our Stand. A Stand is an ontological center of gravity in which we are held steady. In which we are unwavering, even in the face of strong headwinds. A Stand is evoked with a particular phrase, the contemplation of which brings us back to that Stand. Such a phrase could be something like “all voices are heard”. Or it could be something like “people open up for new possibilities of genuine impact in the world”. Or “People are truly aligned around common purpose.” The key to such a Stand is that you have to feel its truth for you. It can’t be somebody else’s. Nor can it be something which you “should” be. It is who you say that you are when you are most deeply connected to your Self. That Self which naturally thrives when in service to the world. Our Stand is where we come back to when we feel that we’ve been adrift. When we’ve been at the effect of our moods, our reactions, our sense of overwhelm. It is a place of deep inner respite and connection. Connection to that deepest part of ourselves that sees itself as contributing something unique to the world. Something which, without us, the world would miss having. Here’s an exercise you might do to deepen your connection to your own Stand. If, after engaging in this exercise, you feel moved to do so, I invite you to share your stand in the comments. I will do the same. Here’s to that for which you are a Stand! #leadership #commitment #purpose #leadershipdevelopment #humandevelopment

Embrace Self-Leadership for a Brighter Future! "Leadership is not about being in charge. It is about taking care of those in your charge." – Simon Sinek Hello, amazing community! Today, I want to share some insights that I have used personally, on what self-leadership truly means and how you can cultivate it in your daily life. Self-leadership is the cornerstone of personal and professional growth. It's about taking responsibility for your actions, decisions, and overall direction. Here are some key tips to help you on this path: 1. Set Clear Goals: Define what success looks like for you. Break down your goals into actionable steps and stay committed to them. 2. Embrace Self-Awareness: Understand your strengths and areas for improvement. Reflect regularly on your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. 3. Cultivate Discipline: Develop habits that align with your goals. Consistency is key to achieving long-term success. 4. Take Initiative: Don't wait for opportunities to come to you. Proactively seek out ways to grow, learn, and contribute. Build Resilience: Learn from failures and setbacks. Use them as stepping stones to become stronger and more adaptable. 5. Seek Feedback: Welcome constructive feedback from others. It's a valuable tool for continuous improvement and growth. Remember, self-leadership is a journey, not a destination. By investing in yourself and taking charge of your life, you can inspire others and create a positive impact in your community. Ready to take the first step towards becoming a self-leader?
