Imagine a dance crew where every member has to stay in sync. The lead dancer (unity) keeps everyone grooving to the same beat, while the rest of the crew (continuity) keeps the moves smooth and flowing, so the dance never skips a beat. If one dancer messes up, the whole routine stumbles. But when they’re all in sync, it’s a flawless performance. That’s unity and continuity keeping everything moving smoothly together! Similarly the normal epithelium is like a perfectly choreographed dance routine, with cells working together in harmony to maintain health and function. Mutations or epigenetic changes can be like a dancer suddenly forgetting their steps or breaking the rhythm, disrupting the smooth operation. This disruption can lead to issues like malignancy or autoimmune conditions, where the once synchronized dance turns chaotic and out of sync. 💪 Functional Anatomy 101: Phrenic Nerve 💪 The phrenic nerve is one of the most vital nerves in the body due to its responsibility for breathing. It provides the main motor supply to the diaphragm, the gatekeeper to everything we do. In the neck, the phrenic nerve lies on the anterior surface of the anterior scalene muscle, passes over the dome of the pleura, and enters the thorax posterior to the subclavian vein. This is super important for neck pain/headaches. When we sit all day in a hunched-over position, the neck muscles become "tight" and can start putting pressure on the phrenic nerve. Additionally, in that seated position, we tend to crush our diaphragm and learn to chest breathe, which places tightness in the wrong places, cranking on this nerve. Then, viola, neck tension, pain, and headaches. Start by learning how to diaphragmatic breathe to lessen the tension on this nerve. Incorporate some soft tissue work around the neck along with neck CARs! #FunctionalAnatomy #PhrenicNerve #NeckPain #HeadacheRelief #DiaphragmaticBreathing #SoftTissueWork #NeckCARs #HealthyLiving #FitnessEducation #AnatomyKnowledge #MoveBetter

Synesthesia isn't a disease or a medical condition, it's rather a phenomenon that causes sensory crossovers, such as tasting #colours or #feeling sounds. Researchers can identify at least 60 different forms of synesthesia. Some forms of synesthesia include: 👉 Auditory-tactile synesthesia 👉 Day-color synesthesia 👉 Grapheme-color synesthesia 👉 Hearing-motion synesthesia 👉 Mirror-touch synesthesia 👉 Time-space synesthesia Experts don't fully understand why synesthesia happens. #colourresearch #colorpsychology #colors #sensoryexperience #internationalcolorday
Colours are not just for the eyes; they can also be heard! In the world of synesthesia, people experience #sounds as #colours or colours as sounds. International Colour Day invites us to explore these unique #sensory perceptions. #internationalcolourday #sensoryexperience #colourresearch #colourpsychology

New artwork today. I went in a new root for this fractal. I see the elements in a progression: from a central wisp of dust of exploded dust, into a swirling color sphere, into a brass cage. I hope you like it. Title: Synesthesia #synesthesia #quantumphysics #fractalart #tantillofineart #tantillo #joetantillo

The cranial nerves are a set of 12 paired nerves that arise directly from the brain. The first two nerves (olfactory and optic) arise from the cerebrum, whereas the remaining ten emerge from the brainstem. The names of the cranial nerves relate to their function and they are numerically identified in roman numerals (I-XII). Each cranial nerve can be described as being sensory, motor or both. They can more specifically transmit seven types of information; three are unique to cranial nerves.
