Today marks the 100th edition of the Extreme Ownership Rundown, our weekly newsletter for simple, clear, and concise leadership guidance to keep leaders on the path of learning and growth. It's humbling to see so many leaders around the world utilize this free resource to further their own leadership development and share it with their teams. To the thousands of leaders who have implemented the principles of Extreme Ownership in their life and learned to balance the Dichotomy of Leadership, one thing is clear: these principles work. Here are three key leadership concepts we’ve explored in the Extreme Ownership Rundown: 1) Extreme Ownership requires humility and honest self-assessment. Our ego wants us to blame mistakes, failures, and setbacks on anything or anyone else. When you blame someone or something else outside your control, you can't solve the problems and they persist. But when you take ownership of mistakes and failures, when you are honest about where you can improve, you can then take action to solve those problems. Everything in your life gets better. 2) The Dichotomy of Leadership teaches us to balance the forces pulling us in opposite directions. Leaders must be confident but not cocky; aggressive but not reckless; focused but detached; humble but not passive; a leader and a follower. Leadership is not black and white but grey. It's a constant balancing act to try and achieve equilibrium, which is what makes leadership so difficult, but so rewarding. 3) Good leaders make more leaders. The best leaders measure their success by the success of their people. They find ways to support and encourage others to step up and lead. Reflect and show gratitude to those who’ve guided you. Look for opportunities to pass that guidance on. Progress requires consistent growth, and true leaders support others along the path. Thank you for your support and encouragement through the first one hundred Extreme Ownership Rundowns. We love hearing how you've utilized these leadership principles and the impact you've witnessed in your personal and professional life. Keep it coming. And keep the recommendations coming on what leadership topics you'd like to see more of to help you tackle specific leadership challenges in your world. This book (and your others) had a massive impact on who I am as a person and I’m eternally grateful for the wisdom. I think I’ve handed it out to those close to me at least 5 times now, and probably will buy more to give away in the future.
Congrats to all of you and thank you for the best leadership training I have ever had through my career. I read Extreme Ownership and still reading the Dichotomy of Leadership. Digested many of the podcasts and also have been receiving the weekly newsletter. Extreme Ownership book and audio book has helped me in my business and personal life. Extremely helpful during covid when I took ownership of my entire datacenter when I was the only one in the office for a long time. Much more work but helped me get after it and it has paid off with so much more knowledge of all the disciplines inside. Thank you all at Echelon Front Leif Babin Jocko Willink Dave Berke Jamie Lynn Cochran 👊 #ExtremeOwnership

Read EO many years ago and it definitely changed my life. The book is my bible and I live by its principles everyday. I could not be more thankful to you, Leif Babin and Jocko Willink.
Congratulations on reaching this incredible milestone of the 100th edition of the Extreme Ownership Rundown! It’s a testament to the impact and value these principles bring to leaders striving for growth and excellence. The three key leadership concepts you’ve highlighted resonate deeply. The emphasis on humility and honest self-assessment is a reminder that leadership begins with looking inward. Balancing the dichotomy of leadership—where confidence meets humility and focus meets detachment—is an art that challenges and refines us daily. And perhaps most inspiring is the idea that great leaders create more leaders, amplifying their influence through the success of others. Thank you, @Leif Babin, and the Echelon Front team for consistently providing actionable insights that inspire reflection and growth. Your work is shaping leaders across industries and geographies, myself included. I look forward to seeing what the next 100 editions will bring and continuing to apply these principles to my own leadership journey. Stay the course and keep leading the charge!
